Yes the view is great, but the food, wine and service is beyond what is required here. Because of their location, all they had to be was, not bad. They actually train their staff. The food is based on Native ingredients and foods indigenous to the area, and the tastes were so intriguing and worked together well. A good wine selection, excellent service, and generous portions

For convenience, the Metate room was only a short walk from our room across the parking lot. The views were very nice. The food was good, but not many choices were available. Since the end of season was nearing the Metate room was only open for dinner. It would have been nice to be able to have breakfast there, too.

Enjoyed Mesa Verde and Far View Lodge. Good Hikes, clean air...Had breakfast Metate Room restaurant and wife and I mistakenly paid for breakfast twice....upon returning and inquiring with waiter (doesn't remember) or manager (shrugged shoulders)...it was our mistake. We accept responsibility...but, could have used a litle help or heads up by somebody.

We had a great dning experience that included local, seasonal food, Colorado whiskey and wines. Pricey, but worth the money as the food was very creative and in a nice setting. My only critique is that our waiter seemed to really struggle with the amount of tables he had.

We were seated by a window with a view. Our waiter helped make our dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was a little pricey, but very good. The menu made notations of which foods were local to the area.
