I took my wife to the St. James Tea room recently because her friends at work had only great things to say about it and they were right. Although I was the only male there, the atmosphere was very cordial and inviting, with the servers dressed in period costumes and all the rooms decorated in beautifully appointed Victorian furniture. The... More

The St. James Tea Room delivers a unique two-hour experience to be sure: - Beautiful shop and tea samples while you wait to be seated - "Nooks" for 2-4 people where you're greeted with a personalized welcome sign and a beautifully furnished, cozy private room (with a curtain!) - Smart, friendly wait staff who smile as if you're the most... When you come to Albuquerque for a visit, you're probably not coming here for high tea, but since you're here, you need to put that on your list of to-do's. You need to experience the St. James Tearoom. Alright, I confess, I have been a tea drinker since I was five years old when my grandmother helped me begin the... More

What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with family. Everything from the ambience, food and service was wonderful. We have been to several teas across the US and world. St James is top notch. We loved it all.

If you love Downton Abbey, you've got to go to the St James Tea Room! Two hours, three pots of tea, three plates of delicious gourmet hors d'oeuvres: (1) savories, (2) breads, and (3) desserts. You'll be surprisingly full by the time you leave. But really, it's all about the atmosphere. This is a favorite place for spending quality time... More

What a nice surprise behind a nondescript parking lot. Walk through the gate and you're in another world. Extensive gardens with benches to sit and enjoy while you wait to be called. Inside you are greeted by a quaint tea shop that leads to narrow hallways leading to the tearoom. Each group is assigned a wait person who introduces herself... More

I've been quite a number of times, both in the old location and the new one. Definitely love the new location and improved tea selection (not that it was small before). I enjoy our "tea times" there, where we can casually enjoy ourselves (a good excuse to shut off the phone for awhile), and between the tea and food (when... More

This is a lovely place! Everyone is so gracious and polite and the atmosphere is lovely. One of the best reasons to go to St. James for me is the ability to have a leisurely conversation with family and friends which is becoming more rare nowadays. The finger foods are decent but sometimes they are better than others. There have... More

The outside of this teahouse is the standard stucco tan that dominates Albuquerque, but once you step inside you are transported to tea time with the antique furniture, tastefully decorated rooms and nooks, huge assortment of tea sets in the shop, and how the staff faithfully support the tearoom atmosphere. My husband and I were escorted to a nook for... More

As a treat for my sister, I planned an afternoon here. She absolutely loved it! There were some women out for tea in period clothing and that resulted in some great photo's. The food is always outstanding and the 3 teas served with it are perfect. It is nice to have a small period style room allowing lot's of time... More
