Saveur is a quiet place that Santa Feans don't always think about, but they should more often, because the food is delicious ad the owners delightful. My husband likes to "make his own" sandwich, selecting the contents from the printed list. I head for the buffet, which is always filled with a great choice of vegetables and salads. There's always...

I am not sure they have buffets in France...can't really say--never been to one. The two words "French" and "buffet" are not usually juxtaposed. That said, most of the buffet is in the form of cold items, which do well in buffets; then there is a modest selection of hot items, meat, soups, stews. As others have no doubt noted,...

We hadn't been to Saveur for a few years so we were a bit concerned when we read a review that said the food was better in the past. So glad we ignored that review! All the choices were as good as our past visits. The veggies in the salads were fresh and deliciously dressed. The Mexican green chile stew...

Went to the bistro at lunch time and picked a few items from the buffet and the special of the day - pork loin with mashed potatoes. Too bad - this used to be an interesting restaurant but, although the service is good and the owner charming, the food is blah!
Super friendly owners. Food was excellent. I wish for more of this kind of restaurant. Fresh and true food there. Pricey though, but you get what you pay for.
A great place to go for lunch. Across the street from the capital, a few blocks south of the river, Saveur offers an outstanding salad bar, a hot dish of the day, and three kinds of soup, all homemade. Dee, who owns the restaurant with her husband, is always there with a warm welcome. The day we went they offered...

A great variety of lunch choices. Quiche, soups, sandwiches, best salad bar I have ever had. The food was superb, fresh, appealing and well presented. The prices are not in the $10 range, more like 15-20, not including beverage. French influenced cooking, but they had American type foods as well.
Have eaten here a few times after my wife recommended the restaurant. The owner always greets the guest with a question about what you desire and a pitch for what matches that objective. Almost too may choices for someone on the first visit, but no hurry needed in placing your order. The food is universally excellent. The service is friendly...
