All of the tonkatsu dishes were delicious, and the waitresses were extremely courteous. The only downfall is the price, which was on the high end.
I have eaten at quite a few tonkatsu restaurants and this place ranks up there. The pork was really juicy and the outside layer of breaded panko was crisp. Had the lunch special inclusive of the large shrimp and it was delicious. The serve yourself tonkatsu sauce was perfectly balanced.
Went to this restaurant on a Saturday mid to late afternoon. We were only customers there. Service people were nice when not busy on their cellphones. Food was decent but, not as good as you get in Japan. The restaurant is a little on the expensive side too.
Loved the roasted sesame seeds served in a mortar, which you grind and add the tonkatsu sauce to - super delicious! And you can choose from different cuts of pork for your tonkatsu. A little pricey, but worth it!
LOVED! Perfect food and service! Loved the premium cut and the menchi minced--- WOW! The sesame grinding and tonkatsu sauce was amazing! The coffee jello a must! This place is a GEM!!!!
This is a great hole in the wall type restaurant right off Beachwalk in Waikiki. The place is small and a little cramped but the Katsu is worth it. I recomend making reservations ahead but walk-ins are also welcomed. I've been here three times over the past year and the food is pretty much consistent each time I've been there.... More
We stumbled upon this unassuming tiny place and discovered an amazing place for Katsu curry. The service was very good and the food delicious. We had the lunch special and returned again for dinner. Reservations are highly recommended. It is a very small place and the prices are on the higher side, but it was worth it.
We stayed at the Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk right next to Tonkatsu Ginza Bairun. We noticed the long lines during lunch and dinner so decided to eat there for lunch during our stay. We waited for about 30 minutes but the wait was worth it! Excellent simple Japanese food with excellent service! They only serve their Katsu Curry during certain... More
I found this place in a Japanese tourist magazine. There is always a line per the host of the restaurant. We waited for an hour on weeknight. Definitely not recommended for big parties. Please come early for the kurobuta tonkatsu. The best I had. They have limited orders of kurobuta per day. Once it's sold out its gone for the... More
Need to reserve, but the food is good. The food is a bit pricey, but the service was very good. The waiter showed us how to grind the seasame and mix it with other condiments.
