Thumbs up for the food! We really enjoyed the dinner with great ambiance. You can never go wrong with anything you choose from the menu. Also, on special occasions, they will make a personalized menu for you to take home and a special dessert with candle and personalized greeting on the plate. This place was where my husband knelt down... More

Terrific food and service- but get there before 6, if you can. Outstanding appetizer of "Da Bag"- spinach, clams. pork, mushrooms steamed in a foil bag- wonderful fresh fish for main courses.

This is an exceptional restaurant in a so-so location. Extremely expensive but worth the price, for one time, for a special occasion. Went for my hubby's birthday and they painted a Happy Birthday note on a plate with icing and gave him a commemorative banner as well. Very excellent service, but a bit uppity - not a relaxed atmosphere -... More

this place is a relic from the 90's, with cheesy deco (think image stock Starbucks would blush to hang in its cafés), unsurprising food which is overpriced, but the worst is the wine - 18 dollars for a glass of very average white wine. better to find a good food truck !

Alan Wong's was the best restaurant we visited in Oahu. The atmosphere was great and the service was inpeccable. We enjoyed the IPAD as menus, with photos of each dish as we were ordering. My husband and I both had an appetizer and entree and found that the portions were generous for a fine dining restaurant. All food was perfectly... More

Alan Wong's? Yes, Please! This is always my first fine dining choice... I have been here many, many times for family dinners and with friends and have never been disappointed. Their fixed menus with wine pairings are superb! Everything from their appetizers to their entrees to their desserts to their drinks are just perfectly executed and, of course the service... More

Was previously in Honolulu a bit over a year ago. Dined at Alan Wongs and Longhis on that trip and assessed both to be excellent. On an early May trip did each restaurant again on back to back nights. If interested, see review for Longhis under that restaursant. On this visit to Alan Wongs, like the last, we were seated... I guess when one reads so many glowing reviews, you expect the best, but are prepared for perhaps something less than that. So, with cautious anticipation, we started our early dinner with a cocktail and reviewd the menu choices. The tasting menu was tempting but we weren't so hungry. We instead had two courses each. All four were stellar. I... More

Alan Wong is truly a culinary experience, a Honolulu classic. You are there for the food, nothing else. The best way to witness this like a show on TV is to get a reservation at the Chef's Counter, with this you get to watch the kitchen and have some idea how some of the food are prepared. Also you have... More

We booked this restaurant in advance of our trip as we've heard so much about it. We both ordered the "classics" tasting menu. Our waiter was okay. He wasn't very personable. The guy siting next to us, so close, was hacking up snot constantly, which wasn't very appetizing. The food was gorgeously presented. Our fave was the fish. The short... More
