It's THE typical food you've got to try. It's got fish, shrimp, lobster, maduro and green banana. Yum.
When on Big Corn Island, I recommend that you consider jumping in a taxi and heading to Mari's. The restaurant is in her (very clean) home on the north end of the island. In coversation with her I found out that she buys her seafood fresh from one of the seafood processors by the municipal wharf. The lobster I had... More
Comedor Maris, otherwise know to taxi drivers, as Ms. Dinet. She runs a casual restaurant out of her home, with outdoor dining, in front of a beautiful garden. Her food is delicious, she is known for her fresh seafood dishes. The prices are also some of the cheapest on the island. There are far more expensive places, with not so... More
We had the last dinner of our trip from Dona Jeanette's kitchen, and it was the perfect ending! She's a fantastic cook with a warm smile and a big heart. We sat in her lovely garden by the beach and got four succulent lobster tails (two came with each dinner) with butter and garlic, cream sauce, fried plantains, rice, salad,... More
Delicouse food for a good price all home made. Try the rondon ( have to order one day before ). The place is lovely, the locals like it too, and it feels like having a dinner on the granny´s terrace
home cooking in a family house at a reasonable price in front of apicturesque beach-had lobster and fries
Maris was great, it is at one of the locals houses where you are feed on her front porch with flowering plants everywhere. You choose Chicken, Fish or Lobster and she takes care of the rest. Beers was cold and cost $1. For big Corn Island this is a great option. $170 Cords for a lobster dinner WOW
Let me keep it simple: delicious home cooked food for cheap. We had a mixed seafood plate with lobster, fish, etc coming with sides for 2, and 5 beers. Grand total? Thirteen bucks. And it was in the top 3 best places I ate at in the last year. Just do it.
We felt that the lobster was nicer than in A princesa. You don't get a first course spaghettini and there is no wine or dessert but we the food was excellent plus the lady that prepares it is very nice. We went for an early dinner and went for a walk on the beach just opposite Comodor Maris.
