This is an excellent izakaya, worth visiting for sure! We have visited Maedaya twice, and each time we enjoyed it thoroughly. When booking they insist you must have 6 people in the party. “A bit of Japan in Richmond”

Having just come back from Japan and getting the authentic Izakaya experience there, we didn't know how Maedaya would compare. Rest assured, it was well worth the visit. Loved this place, price is fair, food is great, ambience is wonderful for the theme. Service is great too. Did not have to ask for anything.
