Friendly service, barman knew his stuff and recommended an excellent local beer. The fish and chips was a bit average though.

Dropped in for lunch. Tried the specials pizza, salmon omlette and kids roast. Generous portions on the omlette and kids roast. pizza was standard. Service was very friendly. Got offered a high chair for my son immediately. Waiting time acceptable. Good kiwi lunch.
Wonderful staff and service, very attentive and happy. Sat in the corner by the fire which was a wee bit cold but otherwise fine. The food was wonderful, meat was cooked perfectly, very happy for the price we payed. Would go again.
This casual restaurant serves good food and a nice selection of wines. Our meal was good, not outstanding but for a little bar restaurant it was just fine. We shared a chicken sandwich and a roasted vegetable salad. Our dessert was excellent--a mini pavlova topped with passion fruit and kiwi. That was worth a return visit in itself. Would recommend...

We decided to go into this pub purely to have the advertised chicken and leek homemade pie. The waitress was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The food arrived, looked great, the pastry was raw, sent it back to the kitchen to be told that was the

Vey busy, but worth it. The menu has all the usual favorites and are well presented with good size portions. I had lambs liver (aka lamb fry) which was excellent, very tender. the service was very good and there is a good selection of beers & wine.
We visited Robbie's in Hanmer for an early dinner on a Saturday night. The service was good and our meals were ok. We sat outside in the court yard which was spoiled by 3 stray cats who seemed feral and all tabby colored and very hungry but afraid of people. I love cats but felt sorry for these ones.
Stopped here on a hot day for a couple of beers. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Pleasant surroundings and decor. Attentive and efficient staff. Nice beer.
