Description: Driving along the charming panoramic road skirting the Sorrento peninsula, you will come across this restaurant nestled in a peaceful, luxuriant garden. The Iaccarino family property dates back to the late 1800s, but has been carefully restored in the Liberty style. The cuisine is based on three principles: Mediterranean culture, innovation and top quality ingredients, mainly sourced from the family farm "Le Peracciole". The wine cellar, built in 25-metre deep volcanic rock from the Oscan-Roman period, stocks the most prestigious wines in the world.

Pretentious, excessively expensive for what you get in return. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff very attentive (if over rehearsed and stiff). But the level of culinary expertise is not up to the reputation. The pretentious, even silly menu and the ridiculous prices for portions that left us wanting a snack after dinner will make this a memory to... More

In a friendly atmosphere we had a true culinary experience. I could not count all the dishes but I wanted to not stop, that's all been delicious. I had not seen that's all hospitable people. I only regret that I live far away from this wonderful place, but it will make me go back and even staying at their hotel.

I read somewhere it is the best restaurant south of Rome and I can believe it, but it is really the whole package including the hospitality of the chefs and the Iaccarino family that makes the place so special. Excellent ingredients as well.

My wife and I ate at Don Alfonso during our 'Minimoon' in Sorrento, as we'd heard really good things about the food from friends who'd been. As we are both true fans of haute cuisine (white kid gloves and all!) we couldn't resist checking it out. The experience did not disappoint! I have to say that on first entering the... More

We had dinner for 10 and were seated in the private room at the front of the restaurant near the entrance. From the time we arrived until we departed 3 hours later, the service was the most professional and attentive I have experienced. Each course was served simultaneously to all 10 of us with a detailed description of the dish... More

This was supposed the be the most awesome dining experience in Italy, but instead we left wishing we had our money and time back but hey, it's gone forever and now I can stand as a warning to others. Like a lighthouse on a jagged shore. Stay away from this pretentious place. The service was snooty and slow. There were... More

We went for lunch and there was only one other table eating. The service they provided was impeccable. I think I had too high hopes for the food but it was delicious nevertheless. We also asked for a tour of the wine cellar and they took us on a 45 minute journey from the hotel to the cellar, to the... More

If we had missed this restaurant while in Sorrento I would book a flight to return as soon as possible. This family owned two-starred Michelin restaurant in the charming village of Sant' Agata was the culinary highlight of our visit. While the menu is seasonal any time of year that you can go will be worth it. Livia greeted us... More

Had a stunning meal here. Was staying in Positano and drive was well worth it. From being greeted, to mama guiding us through meal, meeting chef, and the wine stewArd, nothing was less than top notch. This was our fourth two sat restaurant in Italy and easily the best. Made to feel welcome and the tour at end of wine... More
