I came here just for a drink shortly after it was refurbished a few years ago, but haven't eaten here before, it was a most enjoyable meal, it was quiet as it was a Thursday evening, but the food and service were excellent, They even serve Monbaziliac !

The Highlander is on Tilehouse street and I drive past it most nights on the way home from work and every time I look through the window I think “I must try that place”. So I was a happy boy to have pulled this one out the hat as my first choice. I met the guys there and was pleasantly... More

We recently attended a family celebration at the Highlander over the busy Easter weekend. My in-laws hosted 20 of us in the pub's private room for their 50th wedding anniversary. Both in their 70's, they told me their experience in making the booking, getting the menu, deciding on decorations and all the little touches the wanted was easy and the... More

Four of us visited on a Thursday evening. The menu seemed interesting.I opted for the lamb casserole with braised root vegetables which was £14.50. A lipped soup bowl was brought to me and it contained my complete meal...............it was tasty but there is no way it was worth the money. Another of the party had the steak and ale pie... More

On my way to Luton Airport for a Friday evening flight home I stopped at the Highlander having had lunch there a few months before. When I entered at a couple of minutes before six the restaurant was empty, so I asked if they were open. The answer was yes, so I ordered a beer and asked for the menu.... More

Decided to eat here as we wanted to try somewhere different and have tried several times to get in but they have been too busy. Although a Tuesday night, they had a steady amount of people coming in for the warm atmosphere provide by the lovely fire. The food was different mostly to normal pub food but they still had... More

We went for Sunday lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and found the staff pleasant and helpful. We shall certainly be back again.

After reading some good reviews we decided to try the Highlander for sunday lunch.Had the roast beef and found it too underdone to eat and too fatty, the broccolli was more raw then blanched and the meal portion was quite small. Will not return and would not reccomend to go for sunday lunch.

I have just spent a great 5 hours at The Highlander in their side room which you can hire for functions. This being my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. I got there early to make the room look nice and was warmly greeted by Charlotte who had already set out the tables as we needed them, all the cutlery for all... More
