They take advantage of their location - right on the quayside - which means it can be extremely busy at holiday times. Good dining in the restaurant, or grab (you'll have to be quick) a table in one of the two bars and enjoy a good 'pub lunch'. On the downside, perhaps because of the substantial passing trade - the... More

A quayside pub with plenty of seating inside during bad weather and loads of seating on the quayside in the summer. The pub is very popular and parking on the Hythe is difficult at the best of times. There is plenty of `pay and display` parking in Promenade Park which is a pleasant short walk away. The day I went... More

Just had a snack lunch but service, food and view was excellent. Had a seat by the window with a view of the barges. Great area to walk after lunch.

We ate in the Port Hole, the more formal restaurant of the pub. Food was good quality, well presented and excellent value. Staff were extremely friendly. Difficult to gauge atmosphere as we were the only patrons at 8 pm.

Midweek lunchtime in February and all the tables in the bar were filled as were the window tables in the restaurant. We waited and then sat in the window overlooking the quay and river with the Thames Sailing Barges. It is a delightful location and obviously very popular...there were 80 tables outside! Our baguettes were fine..the menu looked interesting..all main... More

Lovely. We both had the fish chowder and enjoyed it enormously. Good beer too, form local breweries and a smashng view from the windows. At last I've seen Thames sailing barges in the flesh!

Good honest food is served at this quayside pub by the barges. Great outside area too. Good beer as well if you're an ale drinker. They have a separate restaurant that you can sit and eat in or you can eat in the bar. i prefer the tables by the windows in the bar as you can watch the world... More

We visited the Queens Head with friends on Sunday lunchtime. This coincided with high tide, a good time to visit as there is plenty going on along the river and at the quay. It was extremely busy but we managed to get a table by the riverside. We only wanted a snack, and all chose crab sandwiches which were absolutely... More
