Brilliant. Welcoming staff, cozy atmosphere and tasty food. Doesn't open for lunch during the week but fairly rural area and I doubt they get the footfall in the current economic climate. Excellent Steak, good menu choice and the Chef came out to check all was ok for us. Really enjoyed our evening and would willingly return.

The food at this gastro pub is superb - I think it is one of North Yorkshire's very best. Imaginative and delicious

pub was warm and pleasant toilets clean, Meals were ok but a little pricey 4 pub meals, Not a lot of choice and some meals were not available as party of 25 booked in and not enough food.

The pub itself is very nicely decked out, and it is comfortable and warm. The food is another matter. Not sure what the owners are trying to do but they are offering a posh gastro experience, so prices are quite high really, which is fine if the quality of the food matched that. It doesn't. Well i have eaten regularly at this Family owned and run Restaurant regularly since its opening, and have always had the warmest of welcomes from the staff.The food is of an excellent standard with a modern flair, combine this with locally sourced ingredients and cooked and the results are great!. Went mid week, the restaurant was not busy, service was very friendly but not intrusive. I had the most amazing Black Pudding starter!!! I've been telling everyone about it!!!! Compliments to the Chef. Then had the Sirloin Steak again fab quality and very tasty. Would highly recommend anyone to dine here, Can't wait to return to the area!!
