I recently visited the Brownlow Inn with my family on a Saturday night, they were extremely accommodating and gave great attentive service throughout. Although we have visited here numerous times before and we have always had this high standard of service! The meals were fair priced for what we ordered, and the portions were perfectly generous, I particularly enjoyed the... More

First visit to this pub last week in a party of 6: the 4 starters were OK average; 2 mains were good; two were average; one was poor and mine was terrible. Being hungry I chose the mixed grill but what a mistake. Apart from the sausage and black pudding, all the other meats were over-cooked, dry & chewy and... More

This place was packed - at most places this is not a good omen but at The Brownlow, they were excellent. Nice range of beers, quick service, huge portions of well prepared, well presented food, not too pricey either. Fish and chips - more like whale and chips - great value for money even at £11ish. Can't review desert as... More

Had a very nice lunch. Service good and food hot and tasty. Struggled to finish my meal as large portion but my husband helped as his lamb shank was quite fatty and much smaller. Recommend the fish if you are very hungry!

Our party of 9 - birthday celebration - ate here and we were not disappointed. All of our meals and desserts were perfect as you would expect from a chef that dispairs when anybody asks for a well done steak. I had the sea bass fillet special and it was the best sea bass i have tasted for quite some... More

This restaurant has a good reputation for its meat and a varied menu selection. Having eaten steak here on practically every visit, this selection of steak was no different and I ordered the ribeye cooked medium rare. Although I would normally have ordered this particular cut of meat medium, the previous visit's steak was served on a hot plate, which... More

We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here on Sat 19th Jan 2013, there were eighteen of us ranging from 6 to 73 in age and there was a good choice of food for everyone. All the food came out at the same time time and everyone's was hot, we've been to plenty of other places where they can't manage this... More
