"We ate here on a busy Friday night and had no complaints about the service or welcome we received. The decor is standard gastro pub with some interesting paintings but not much in the way of atmosphere.
We started with the Welsh rarebit which we shared. Generous portions meant this turned out to ..."be a good plan. Rich, salty cheese mixture on a wedge of toast with a dollop of excellent onion marmalade on top had us almost licking the plate. I had the burger to follow which was one of the best I've had but It was let down by some dry and industrial chips. For pudding we shared an excellent sticky toffee pudding with coconut ice-cream which was everything you hope for in a STP. All in all, a lovely meal.

"I am a fairly frequent visitor to the George & Dragon and was pleased, on a beautiful Bank Holiday Monday, to find the service and food as good as always. A very friendly and efficient welcome, a fine pint and well above average pub food made this visit a real treat. We have also eaten here in the e..."vening and had an excellent meal.
And as if the pub itself is not fantastic there is the winding road up and then back to Arundel through some of the loveliest Sussex countryside you could find. A hidden gem very much worth going off the beaten track for.

"We went there for lunch on a Saturday and arrived before the rush! Clearly this is a popular place with families, hikers, mountain bikers, just about everybody really!
The burger is excellent and the fish and chips were probably the best I've had on a pub. The portions are just right, we couldn't..." manage a dessert, not even to share. Nice beer and the staff were excellent, welcoming, friendly and helpful.
To be really picky, the coke seemed to have come out of a large bottle and was a little flat, but we didn't ask for a replacement. I'm sure that if we had asked they would have replaced it. The double expresso was a bit on the small size too but again not to the extent where we asked for another. These are very fussy points really!
We will be going back there again. The ambience is old world pub and the location very rural is you fancied a walk afterwards to work off the food!
Easily a five star pub.
