"I heard about this restaurant via friends near Mantova and was excited to try out their cultural blend of traditional Chinese and traditional Italian food preparations. Corrado, your host, waiter and sommelier runs the dining room while his wife Amy who transferred to Italy from Hong Kong to finish..." a master degree with Slow Food works her mastery in the kitchen. I loved the 2 varieties of fried wontons, one with vegetables and the other with shrimp and then in a sort of perverse reverse order dined on a succulent pancetta with its crispy cracklings before deciding I was still hungry and curious and tried the wonderful ravioli served in a marvelous broth. Overall, a fun dining experience with an interesting mix of two cultures. They also serve culatello from the most renown producer and top notch parmigiano-reggiano from the region, and have a well selected group of wines from around the world, concentrating mostly on italian varieties and did I mention the artisanal beer selection...

"In the unlikely setting of Suzzara you will find a real hidden gem, and obvious labour of love in Mangiare, Bere, Uomo, Donna - name taken from the Taiwanese cult classic, Eat, Drink, Man, Woman (which tells the story of a family, with food acting as a binding agent to the film through its intrinsic..." centrality to life itself)- and both the Asian flavour and dedication to the art of food is on display here.
Great quality, local ingredients are cooked up by Hong Kong chef Amy Lim to create original and delicious dishes you are hard pushed to find to this quality and care in highly traditional, food-conservative Italy!
The restaurant is in a historic villa and also has rooms -which, much as the restaurant, have been carefully restored to a keen aesthetic - making this a great place to stop over on way to/from Mantua, Verona, Modena or Parma.
Relaxed, beautiful atmosphere, different, welcoming, great food, highly recommended!
