"During a 7-night stay on Eleuthera, my wife and I hit this place about every other day. Pammy's is a "takeaway" restaurant, sort of Eleuthera's version of fast food. Most of the customers placed orders for carryout. The dining area was relatively small, about four small tables.
In order to max..."imize our "beach time", we often ordered four meals: two for lunch and two for dinner. One of their tasty selections was steamed pork chops. It was very tender and had a good flavor. Their fried pork chpos were also excellent. Probably my favorite dish was the fried grouper fillets. The owner's husband catches all of the fish for the restaurant and much of the island. If he had no luck fishing the day before, well, there might be no grouper available! But when it was available, it was delicious - very flaky and mild.
Pammy's meals came with peas-and-rice (sometimes beans-and-rice), which is a Bahamian staple. It was good, even better with hot sauce added. Their cole slaw was also...

"We stopped by Coco's on the way down to Light House Beach late in the morning on a Sunday. The place is right on Queen's highway. No one was there when we arrived but Coco soon came out and welcomed us. They had had a party at the restaurant the night before and Coco told us he had closed the place..." at 5 that morning. Nevertheless, he made us feel right at home by taking us across the road to the conch pen and showing us how they prepare the conch for salads, etc. and then making us a great lunch of conch salad (my wife) and a conch burger (me), complete with a couple cold Kalik's. He was a really nice guy to talk to as well. I felt good spending my money at an establishment where I know how hard the owner works and how much he seemed to appreciate our patronage.

"Went to the Beach House a couple times during our stay. It's located on a great beach in the midst of large expensive beach houses. The setting is beautiful, but my wife and I tend to enjoy exploring the out-of-the-way places that aren't so tourist-intense. The place obviously caters to those sta..."ying in the upscale residences in the area (much like Tippy's). The staff was ok but on one occasion we could tell there was some sort of discontent among them. The food was good, not outstanding, but good. My favorite dish was the conch fritters. This is not a good place for happy hour unless your willing to drop $6-7 for a beer and twice that for a cocktail. Overall, I'm glad we went but I'm also glad we explored other less touristy restaurants.
