  "After a windy and rather chilly day at Côte Vermeille in Collioure, we decided to treat ourselves with some seafood. Can Pla turned out to be a very good address to enjoy a reasonably priced set menu (18.50 EUR). My wife had a fish soup as starter which was served on a nicely prepared plate, I enjoy..."ed a fresh salad with anchovies. As main dish, we both had grilled "brasse", which was fresh and came along with fried potatoes and some vegetables. A sauce or some spiced butter would have been nice to be served along this rather dry dishes. We drunk "Rosé" from Collioure (16 EUR for 5 dl) which was magnificent and had a translucent ruby color. As dessert came a "Crema catalans" which was tasty. The service was efficient and friendly, the place became quite busy during the course of the evening and so the atmosphere became somewhat hectic, which was however a consequence of the popularity of the restaurant even during low season.   "Friday 1pm greeted as we walked up stairs from beach where we were greeted as if they knew we were coming.. Either English or French worked. Four of us had tasting menu and recommended wines (we chose local as we were offered both local and other). Each dish had eye appeal and eclectic ingredients...." As one would wish, each plate was complex, diverse, and adventurous. Of note was the foie gras at the right done ness and temperature and the langoustines melting in one's mouth. Equally impressive was the dessert plate, cold ice cream a tea and cake with Creme and raspberry and chocolate and who knows what all. Service was invisible until needed ,it then appeared magically.
