"The 1st time I went was amazing. Prompt service, everything came out quickly and as described. The owner was there, and he breeds confidence. He clearly cares about his food and his restaurant. The 2nd time the owner was not there. It was a comedy of errors. Our cocktails were made incorrectly (making one undrinkable). When I ordered my burger I was very confident, the waitress certainly wrote things down like she was listening to me. Then what came out was comically incorrect.
It did eventually get sorted out, and we were awarded free shots and a discount. I have never been giving anything free in China for a mistake. This being an entirely new and unexpected experience for me, it made me very happy.
I will definitely go back. The burgers are delicious. The second visit dramatically lowered my expectations of the wait staff. So make sure to order clearly....

"We spent one week in Chengdu for business and sightseeing trip, and after a few experiments in the local too-spicy Sichuan cuisine, we decided to search the city for a place to enjoy flavors that we more familiar with. That is how we got to Safari, and we fell in love from first sight.
The food w..."as great, all fresh, tasty and home-made (even the yogurt is done in-house). The quality of the ingredient are the best one can find in China, clean and safe. Diving into details we especially loved the Fatush salad, the Mousaka, the Keftas and the mutabal, but all the dishes we ordered (and along the week we return few times so we tried the entire menu almost) were great- tasty and fresh.
But besides the food, what made us fall in love in the place is the hospitality - the staff is amazingly friendly, smiley and helpful and made us feel at home while we escaped from the rain outside.
Also they serve fresh mint tea and shisha for smoking so it is great place to pass rainy afternoon enjoy...

"There are a few “hao” (good) in the other previous reviews, so I title mine the same. Double. Hao hao.
Of all the dishes, none was less than pleasant. Some spicy (but not too much) Mapo Doufu, where the tofu itself is one of the most tender I ever tried. Tasty eggplants. Delicious pork meat with..." celery, mushrooms and bell peppers. Soft and delicate bamboo shoots. And so on.
Yanjing beer, nice and cold by the bottle as rarely it happens to come to the table in China.
A more than acceptable bill. Though deemed a bit expensive by other diners, but Chinese people have different parameters of what is cheap and what is expensive when it comes to food.
Last one: nice, quiet atmosphere, lights a bit dim but you’re never in the dark, a small waterfall pouring water on a little pond with fake lotus flowers. Restrooms clean and with no ugly smell – never a given in too many places. With poor little goldfishes swimming in a bowl near the basin where you wash your hands... A bit kitc...
