"After visiting the Georgia O'Keeffe House in Abiquiu followed by a massage by a retired RN whose outdoor glass pavilion with massage table is on the bank of the Chama River, I drove leisurely to the Abiquiu Inn, home of the Cafe Abiquiu, for a light dinner. It was delightful - a panini of grilled m..."arinated chicken breast with marinated red onions and a good, spicy sauce plus salad, topped off by Monk's Ale made up the road a ways at the Christ in the Desert Monastery. This meal was the perfect end to a perfect day. Service was a bit casual - I had to ask twice for water. And I learned that in New Mexico, when the waitress brings a check with no tray under it, you still pay her and don't walk up to the cashier!

"Excellent food and service. We had the chilled soup, red mesa smoked salmon salad, avocado chicken sandwich, smoked salmon sandwich and fajita quesadilla, washed down with Monks Ale and Monks Wit (wheat) beers from the nearby beer making monastery. Sit inside if you want to consume alcohol....it's n..."ot permitted outdoors.

"Way out there in the middle of glorious nowhere (Georgia O'Keefe territory) lies this small and unpretentious resort. The restaurant, we had read on other reviews, was worth a try. We did, had the trout tacos (kind of a Mexican fusion thing, and very good) along with the two chile rellenos, one with..." red, one with green sauce. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. The green and red chile sauces do New Mexico well. The iced tea (mint) and lemonade were quite expensive at $3.50 each, however. Avoiding this indulgence would make it a good value. The service was perfectly acceptable. The entire bill was over $35 which is not a cheap lunch, due mostly to the iced teas. But we certainly enjoyed the experience!
