"Shame on the Moon has been around for almost 30 years, so they must be doing something right. It is not hip or trendy, but delivers an excellent meal in a traditional setting. The menu is straightforward and all of the food is well-prepared. I had veal meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and green ..."beans. The meatloaf was well-seasoned, although the sauce was a bit cloying. My dining partners had two different preparations of fish, and were happy with their choices. The accompanying salads were superfluous, but the rolls were classic white dinner rolls, and delicious. The portions are quite large, and I skipped dessert and took half my entree home. Places like Shame on the Moon and Lord Fletcher are staples of the more mature residents of Rancho Mirage, and they hearken back to the days when Presidents Eisenhower and Ford and entertainers like Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra lived in the area. So bring an appetite and a sense of history when you dine at this classic Rancho Mirage restaura...

"My spouse and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a special treat—dining at Wally's. Be both took advantage of the Prix Fixe menu which offered some delightful choices. For an appetizer, she ordered the Carpaccio of Beef Tenderloin which I tried and found delicious. The presentation was ext..."raordinary with all the paper thin slices arranged in a wheel on a large plate. I had the Calamari Balsamico which was presented like a veal scallopini on a bed of sautéed spinach which was delightfully flavored.
She ordered the Free-Range Chicken Breast which was presented in a delicious sauce along with mini potatoes and vegetables. She said it was very tasty. I had the Pan-Fried Whitefish which sat on a bed of leek and fennel fondue in a delicious sauce, along with a stack of various small vegetables. The food was very delicious and prepared perfectly.
We both had Valrohna Chocolate Souffle, which were ordered immediately and baked while we were enjoying our dinner. It was serv...

"this restaurant and its sister restaurant in palm springs serve good food in remarkable settings. acqua pazza, in particularl, is splendid. located at "the river" a shopping center with a man-made river running along one side, it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. parking can be tight, even in..." the huge lots, but it generally available. to reach the entrance of the restaurant, one has to walk along the "river", occasionally passing swans and ducks. the interior is semi-dark and can get noisy. the place to eat is on the patio, heated on cool nights and very comfortable on warm evenings. prices are inexpensive to moderate and there is a good selection of prix fixe 3 course meals at unbelievably low prices.
