"We ate at Ocean House last week with good friends who claim this is their favorite restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated immediately; from our perch, we could see the water and lucky patrons who were sitting directly at the window with that terrific view. We were given bread and menus and..." the specials were recounted for us by a zealous waiter. We ordered a bottle of wine and ordered calamari which was superb. My partner ordered the tuna tartare with wasabi foam (he liked it). Another ordered the shrimp cocktail, with LARGE shrimp and tangy cocktail sauce. Nice! I ordered the lobster ravioli, which were cooked to perfection (al dente) with a large piece of lobster on top in a cream sauce, Outstanding. "Am currently the resident innkeeper at the Captain Farris House in South Yarmouth, MA just a short drive from The Oyster Company in Dennis, MA. The owners of the inn recommend it highly and 99.9% of the guests we've sent there come back raving about the food, etc. Had to try it myself. My brother..." came to visit me and we made that our first stop for dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and tavern-like which I like a lot. The service was amazing....not overpowering...just right. The food--he had fried scallops which he said were the best he had ever had (he lives on Nantucket Island and has had succulent scallops from Nantucket Bay regularly) and I have almond encrusted salmon. Delight to the tongue! He picked up the tab so I don't know what the total was but, to be honest with you, I don't care! I'll go back....actually tried to when my cousin came to visit on Sunday but they're not open on Sundays until Memorial Day weekend...bummer. This place is a "do not miss" while on the Cape.
