"Upfront alert: there are a few quirks to this place, but it's worth it! It's small and they don't accept reservations...there are, perhaps, only 30 seats inside (there are already rumors of expansion, and if you call ahead, they'll minimize your wait upon arrival). The tables inside are all very sma..."ll two-tops, so if you have a party of four, you get two pushed together...and a party of five means creative sharing of tabletop space. Their lease apparently has some non-compete clause with neighboring Starbucks, so no coffee is served; however, if you don't mind a stroll two doors down after your meal to grab a cup at the Seattle chain, you can bring it in the restaurant. We dined with our teenage son, and he was fine, but while they are most certainly welcome, I don't think kids would really enjoy it here.

"We dined as a couple and sat outside. The waitress and her trainee assistant were very friendly but the service quality was just adequate. She did not do a good job with explaining the dishes or specials and could have been more prompt with a few misc. items. I concur with other reviews that the por..."tion sizes were generous for the price. The prices are moderate for STL seafood places. My wife's spring salad was nicely presented in a large mason jar with great lemon preserved dressing. My app of mussels in saffron sauce was good but not memorable. The grilled bread was best part. My wife's seared Tuna was the best dish with lots of sushi grade tuna. My cornmeal dusted scallops and shrimp was mixed. Great scallops and overcooked mediocre shrimp. Overall, this worthy of another visit with reasonable prices and generally very good food (some great and some mediocre). Wine list was reasonably priced and cocktails were quite good too.

"This is just like most First Watch places in the chain but the servers and hosts do everything right. Friendly, good with the kids in particular, and very efficient. The breakfast quality is good and straightforward. It is not fancy but consistent. Variety of healthy (and naughty) options. The only ..."critique is that the drip coffee is mediocre but, in their defense, they aren't trying to be a fancy coffee place (i've never tried an espresso drink). We are regulars with and w/o our young kids.
