La Taverna San Silvestro is the only restaurant in Collepino. The owner and his wife make an extraordinary effort to provide guests with a genuine home cooking. The atmosphere is exquisite because the restaurant is in a medieval structure. Only the atmosphere already 'worth a visit, but the food and also very good. I ordered "Artichoke Ravioli with meat sauce" for lunch and a plate of mixed grilled vegetables. and a mixed grill. The Pasta was fresh homemade ravioli, stuffed with fresh artichokes and other herbs. They were cooked with a sauce of fresh tomatoes and artichokes, very delicate and tasty.   "La barberia restaurant located in Villagloria, in Spello is one of my favorite place to eat in Spello. Spello has become a gourmet ghetto of Umbria and eating out in Spello is a real experience because there are so many good restaurant in a small village. La Barberie has a fixed menue for euros 25 ..."or 30 which includes several courses and wine as well. You are treated to home made appetizers, a sampler of two primi piatti (possibly a pasta and a risotto) and a main meat dish and a great great dessert.   "We found Enoteca Properzio via Umbria Slow App we had downloaded for our trip. ( We highly recommend the App by the way.) This Enoteca is located on the main drag in Spello. We chose to sit in the back garden. The owner Roberto treated us to a lunch and wine tasting. The food was some of the best ..."we had in Italy. And the wine. . . . well, magnificent! Roberto is quite the character and really added to the whole experience. He knows his wine and his food. The food was fresh and locally sourced. Our experience there really stands out in our memories of this two week trip to Umbria and Le Marche. Don't miss this place - or Spello for that matter!!!!! " More >
