I stayed for one night after a long drive through France and Italy and although I have stayed here before I am always surprised at what a wonderful and charming hotel this place is.

Built on the volcanic rocks overlooking the sea this hotel gives you the feeling like you have stepped back in time to a more relaxing and peaceful era. The service is fantastic and the staff are always happy to help. The rooms are clean and modern without loosing the old school feel. Breakfast is very good as well and there is a well stocked bar for those who like a good single malt or if you are up for a cocktail you won't be disappointed either.

My tip is to request a ground floor room with a terrace. IMHO these are the best with double doors opening to a terrace and straight on to the pool. ( not that I used the pool in November) but it's a lovely place to have your breakfast set up!

Parking is also secure and free , as is wifi.

Will I be back? Yes I have already booked for a weekend in January with my wife as a break from the kids and daily routine.

I can't wait!

Its coastal location was good and the terrace should have been excellent. However, there was no service around the pool and the poolside showers were green with slime and too disgusting to use. I chose the sea! First night we ate in but the staff could not care a less and the food tasteless. Luckily a restaurant within walking distance was much better. The room was very clean and spacious but the noise from other rooms was very audible. We were glad we were there in October when the occupation level was lower. Conferences dominated the public areas.

Room tip: go out of season

We hadn't booked our one night here, we just turned up and got a sea view room but not one of the upgraded rooms for which we were given a €20 discount by the very nice and friendly receptionist. We were very pleasantly surprised at our room, it was the best facility and quality wise that we had had in Sicily and even had sky TV and lots of tv channels. The view of the sea was lovely as was the pool area and pool bar. It is a large hotel and the internal signage could do with improving as we kept getting lost. The food in the restaurant was very nice. Breakfast was in the pretty conservatory or on the outside balcony and there was everything available, a wide selection and very nice. This really is a lovely hotel and we would highly recommend it.

We spent a night in this hotel on the last day of a 2-week journey in Sicily. The hotel is quite old and needs to be renovated.
The beach is on the rocks and it's not that relaxing to swim in the sea - huge waves, sharp stones, sea urchins.
What we really liked is the breakfast that we ordered the night before because we left early (at 6.15 AM) and that was given to us in the morning - yoghurt, juice, water, peach and other staff.
Overall, the hotel is OK - we managed to check-in earlier, the room is big and clean, there are some restaurants in the surrounding area of 1 km (try Mare La Putia).

Room tip: We stayed in a room with a sea view, however the sea was far away from us so I think there is no need to pay more for this type of room.

Location, location, location is the reason why I chose this place and the reason why I will do again. The scenery is awesome. The premise itself is also beautiful. I had a superior room that was well kept and clean. I would say that only the bathroom was not up to the hotel standard as it was more a 3 star hotel bathroom. The solarium with the swimming pool is just perfect and you have also access to the sea through stairs carved in the rocks. The breakfast on the terrace facing the Ionian sea is an amazing way to start your day.
Personnel was polite and helpful.
The pool bar was a bit pricy.

Room tip: Sea view room is a must here
