our children gave us 4 nights at Hunchy Hideaway to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
we could not have asked for a nicer present.
we stayed in the rainforest cabin and if you crave for the following:

beautiful rainforest setting 1 metre from your balcony deck with whipbirds, catbirds and friendly possums
luxurious surroundings
rocher ferrero chocolates
magnificent roses on the dining table and a rose on your bedside table
handcarved and sculpted wooden benches
spotless clean spa (although at 75 a bit hard to get in and out of) but that is not the spa's fault
an open fire
a wrap-around balcony with bar-b-q and an outdoor setting
outdoor shower if you want it, i did, it was a different experience
the most comfortable bed with a thick doona (duvet)
all the crockery and cutlery is high quality
the scones with jam and cream were delicious
breakfast was great with freshly ground coffee, plunger and about 12 different types of tea, different cereals and if you don't like some of them Ali will change them for the cereal of your choice
fluffy towels and a fluffy Him and Her Bathrobe
total privacy
and these are just the main items, there are numerous little touches that made our stay very special.

We are from Brisbane and we went away to Montville on the weekend and stayed at Hunchy's hideaway. It was just lovely! Outdoor shower (plus a nice modern indoors one) spa in the living room (proper two person one) and really comfy bed. They had fresh roses and scones waiting on arrival and gave us a great breakfast basket. We only left the room twice all weekend - to go for lunch at Montville and to do the waterfall walk (quite challenging at times - not for the faint hearted). They had cats that apparently visit but we never saw them (might have been the intermittent rain) and possums that want to hand feed (but got annoyed at us never having fruit or anything suitable to feed them) and in the mornings the brush turkey comes and has a look in to see what you are up to. There is a BBQ on the balcony and rainforest all around - you can hardly see another cabin and no one goes past your front door so they don't need to have curtains. We borrow a dozen DVDs and played backgammon and just generraly hung out. All weekend we were simply didn't want to leave. Such a relaxing way to spend a weekend. And then we drove home via the scenic route stopping for a beer overlooking the glasshouse mountains. What a great way to spend a weekend! I highly recommend the place. It's ideal for a romantic weekend away - hideaway was the perfect name for it! It's the ideal place to go for your next anniversary. It's so nice to finally have a place exceed the expectations set by the website. It fulfilled every promise and the couple that run it are just great!

My husband and I have just spent 3 beautiful nights at this very quant establishment and found it to exceed our expectations in more ways than one. I have stayed in a few other places and have had people walk into our cabins (thankfully we were not in bed). but at hunchy hideaway the only time we saw someone was when we went to go out and when the people in the villa next to us were out on their verandah (not very visible though, heard noise more). The villa was beautifully presented and clean with lovely personal touches with the flowers and candles and found the do not disturb sign that could be placed across the personal path to the villa to be a very beautiful wimsicle touch. We will be back to stay again in the future for sure. The only thing I could fault was the bed was very firm but then that is a personal thing and I have slept in way worse beds and paid more for the privilage

My wife and i spent 3 sensational nights in a cabin at Huchy Hideaway. What a magical place it is, felt relaxed from the minute we drove in , great sceneary, well appointed Cabins, beautiful surroundings. Hasd a ball exploring the whole area, from the walks up the country roads, down the creek to the waterfall and through the town. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is needing a break from the rat race, We had some great "Us" time which we dont get enough of these days. another tip, have a feed at the montville cafe ( pub) . Overall i cant speak highly enough about the place.
