3 room guest house in Paternoster, with garden and tiny pool. 10 seconds to sandy beach.

We loved our comfy room, tucked under the thatch, with huge soft bed, nice linen, duvet and picture window overlooking miles of  beach and surf.  Room amenities were good, with walk in shower and bath in bathroom; fridge and good storage space.

Arnold, the owner, cooks gourmet breakfasts.  Do not whatever you do confuse these with ordinary morning food!  These are hour long social events around the big table, with three delicious courses.  Be prepared, and don't ask for toast!

Also on the food front, are the (optional) 4 course dinners, by Arnold,  3 or 4 nights a week. Do not miss these - food is to die for. BYOB to dinner.

All three rooms are good, but we preferred 'Green'.

We spent a lovely couple of days visiting the west coast .
We were greeted at Ah guest house by Arnold who showed us to our lovely room with a lovely view from the dormer windows .
We had pre booked dinner and during the late afternoon there were some wonderful aromas wafting up to the thatched roof of the kitchen/living room
We were then treated to a gourmet meal extraordinaire
Breakfast (thankfully after such a huge dinner ) was served late and was another delicious affair and the whole stay was very good value indeed .

We stayed four nights in December at the start of a long African Odyssey. Paternoster is a delightful relaxing place and we were smitten with the hospitality of Arnold and Annelise at the charming Ah Guesthouse!

Tranquil atmosphere, a delightful ground floor room (there are only 3 rooms here so it can be difficult to get in to) and a small garden - very near to the sandy beach and with a Masterchef in the kitchen who conjures up excellent food. Arnold is a high calibre chef who now chooses to be out of the big city limelight. Comprehensive breakfasts are served at 09:30 (actually a bit late for us but not an issue on this trip) which set you up for the day.

Nothing is too much trouble and Ah! and we wholeheartedly recommend it.

One of the best getaways for a weekend. The venue is lovely, has amazing rooms, with great attention to detail. The best part are the hosts who are incredible people, very warm and you leave feeling like you made friends. The breakfasts are divine. Make sure you book to eat a supper with Arnold.
