“My favorite hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012 via mobile

I stay at the MO Tokyo whenever I'm in Tokyo for business, typically 2-3 times a year for 2-3 days.

The MO Tokyo is my favorite hotel. The service is incredible. For example, I'm always impressed that when I walk up to the front desk to check in, they already know who I am, and have all the paperwork prepared (I think the staff on the ground floor must sneak a peak at my luggage tag and radio up to the check-in staff. My first time there, after having checked out, the woman accompanying me downstairs in the lift noticed my Cathay Pacific luggage tag, and asked me if I had registered for miles for my stay. I hadn't known I could, and as soon as I said no, she pulled out a pen and a pad of paper, took down my mileage number, and said "I will take care of it for you". Concierge is similar - all my experiences at the concierge desk has exceeded my expectations.

I have only eaten room service, which was actually only ordinary, though still pretty good. Tapas molecular, the molecular gastronomy mini-Restauraunt is amazing. Service in the bar was also memorable. Gym is standard, on par with the rest of the hotel, a bit small but adequate. Room is Mandarin Oriental standard, which is to say very comfortable, and impeccable attention to detail. The welcome fruit is always delicious, especially my first stay there, where the large sweet strawberries dusted with caster sugar was out of this world.

Location is perfect for my work. As a tourist, I would probably want to stay more west closer to shibuya, omotesando, etc, but the hotel is a hop and a skip from a subway station, so location is actually just fine.

“Beautiful place”

Amazing hotel. Service and manner of staff is incredibly. Everything works seamlessly. Stayed in 3209 with a view towards Fuji. Love the automatic blinds. Large room size. Thoughtful touches like stationary, stapler etc. Breakfast is devine on the 38th floor. The underground station is right below. Would definitely stay there again and worth the money in my view.

“Wow, what service!”

We stayed here in March 2011 and this was the best hotel we've ever stayed in anywhere. As we walked towards the hotel with our bags from Tokyo station, the bell hop ran down the driveway to take almost everything from us.

The view behind the front desk was unbelievable. The rooms were all that we were hoping for as this was a treat for us at the end of our fifth trip to Japan.

“Flawless luxury, with attention to details”

Throughout the many years I have travelled to Tokyo, my stays at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo have always exceeded my expectations by far. Located a five min taxi ride from Tokyo Central Station (easy to connect via the Narita Airport express train), the hotel occupies the top 9 floors in a 38 story building. From the moment you enter the impressive lobby you feel in a complete different world. Attention to your needs is always there, spacious and luxury rooms with breathtaking views and yes, you will have to pay for Wi-Fi, but the signal is strong and covers the entire hotel, whether in the rooms, at the bar or in the restaurants. Staff is very courteous, extreemly friendly and will do all to make you feel at ease. Mind you that Tokyo is a very big city, an easy access to the Tokyo subway network downstairs in the basement is an added convenience. This is a hotel which won't disappoint. You really feel this place is your true home in Tokyo.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view to Mount Fuji.

Stayed here and two separate occasions during Japan trip and rate it among the best in the world. Great restaurants and bars had an upgraded giant room with superb views.
Once in a lifetime stay helped by wonderful friendly and efficient staff.

Room Tip: Make sure it has a good view......
