I visited Tokyo this year for New Years with friends, so we wanted to stay somewhere reasonably priced and in the downtown core. There's no breakfast, but there is a Tully's cafe on the first floor with decent coffee and sandwiches. The hotel is located right next to the Higashi-Shinjuku station, and you can easily walk to Shinjuku San-Chome, where there are lots of great restaurants, pubs, and Kabuki-cho for nightlife and clubs. It is also a five-minute walk from Korea Town. The rooms are small, but clean - we spent very little time at the hotel, so it was great for a good night's sleep and hot shower. The staff were really nice, and spoke English. The one thing to consider is that there is a huge difference between a regular twin room and an eco-twin. The eco-twin room technically has two beds, but they are stuck together and cannot be separated. The regular twin is much bigger and the beds are on completely different sides of the room. I'd recommend this place for people who aren't planning to spend much time in their room, and want to be right downtown.
