A charming and very authentic bed and breakfast in Normandy near the D-Day beaches. It's a restored farmhouse with all the modern comforts, like nice modern bathtubs and good heating. The hosts (who speak good English) are very gracious -- they also do dinners if you feel like staying in. It's in a little corner of rural paradise, with pastures, cows, fresh air and peace and quiet. There are other b and bs closer to the beaches, perhaps, but the setting isn't as bucolic and relaxing. Inside, the decor is very charming and cozy -- there's also a corner room with a fireplace. It seems like a nice place to stay with kids -- there's a jungle gym and plenty of grass to run around in, and cows roam around the neighboring field. If you want to stay a full week (or a weekend off-season) there are 'gites' - self-catering cottages.
