Koh Samui, arrival at airport puts one in the laid back island mood - tropical and open air - just what we needed after 2 hectic days of shopping and exploring Bangkok. This hotel is situated off the main touristy area where the nightlife and shopping is concentrated which is just what we needed. The hotel offers a complimentary twice daily drop off and pickup to this area. There are shops, 7 Eleven, massage shops etc within an easy walk of the resort along the main road, also massages available on beach. The lobby area was undergoing renovation (this was still their off season - end of November) but this did not detract/affect our stay. Relaxing and right on Chaweng Beach. Beautiful long beach lined with hotels and restaurants, recommend The Beach Bistro right next door for delicious local food and very friendly staff. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast table, as did all the hotels we stayed in. We chose not to eat dinner at any of the hotels as there are excellent local choices at very reasonable prices especially for South Africans. Sea was a little rough at this time of year but the pool area and beach were perfect to laze around. Hotel is right on beach. We had a lovely family suite with sea views. Bath in room could do with a little updating.

My wife and i were fortunate enough to get married at this top class resort back in 2010. As it would have it the actual date of our wedding was 10.10.10 which happened to be our 10 year anniversary. Yes it sounds a bit of a fairytale but this was just the beginning of our memorable stay with Impiana.
We chose not to source a local wedding planner in Samui, instead we dealt directly with the Resort itself. i was a little skeptical myself as i am sure most people would be, organizing their wedding day through email. Diah the Resort wedding planner made my wife and i feel at ease immediately, even through her email correspondence. She was able to arrange everything with no fuss even before we had arrived we knew we were in for an amzing experience.
We were lucky enough to have 50 friends and family join us for our special day, with all bar 5 guests opting to stay with us at the resort. The resort arranged transfers and so much more for all of our guests and made everyone's time with them something to remember for the rest of our lives.
The location was absolutely unbelievable, it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area but close enough to enjoy a spot of shopping or some night life for those who chose to venture in. (as if there wasn't enough fun going on at the resort)
The restaurant and bars at Impiana were very well priced and we sure made the most of Happy Hour, which happened to run all day. (if you were smart enough to realise) We were always greeted with huge smiles from all the staff who just could not do enough for you.
I must give special praise to Diah again who was just so unbelievably fantastic and we are forever indebted to you for making our visit to special. Still to this day we keep in contact with her. Also a special thank you to Judy (superwomen) who once again left no stone unturned for us, and lastly to Pinyoo who was basically icing on the cake to our stay with the Impiana Samui. Thank you for everything you done for us and everything you were able to organize for us for our stay with the Impiana Kata Noi. (words can not describe this place)
Our guests chose to stay in a variety of the accommodation options Impiana had to offer and were all extremely comfortable, whether it be the standard room all the way up to the beach-side suite. All were of great standard and had everything you required.
During our stay it was both my mother and my wife's mother birthdays and the staff arranged cakes, dinners and a special rendition of happy birthday for both of them, again supporting the fact that the staff at Impiana were fantastic and we again can not thank them for everything they done for us.

I can not speak highly enough of this resort. Words can not describe on what a lovely and enjoyable time we had during our stay, we will definitely be back!

We stayed in this hotel in the month of August 2011. Rooms were clean and as seen in pictures on Tripadvisor. We followed the advise of not choosing a room closer to highway and later really appreciated ourselves for that decision. Our room was closer to the pool with fairly good view of sea and beach. Rooms are not very big but appropriate for a travelling couple. Property as a whole is also quite good. Pool is slightly small but can be overlooked as other features such as breakfast spread, beach and location are really wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would love to go back again.

superb location, 20-25mins away from the party places in chaweng beach, a really nice resort to stay. very quite and peacefull. staff was also very kind. but the restaurant staff was a bit rude and we had to wait for a long period of time for some one to take the order and also to serve so that was very unpleasant.
