“Beautiful hotel”

We stayed for 2 nights at Rockys. On arrival we were upgraded to a beach front suite from which the view was stunning. Beautiful resort with great food, friendly staff and everywhere kept immaculate. Two nights was not long enough and if we are fortunate to visit Koh Samui again would definitely stay here again.

“Absolutley wonderful boutique hotel! Staff exceptionally friendly, helpful, rooms stunning & emaculate, food exquisite!”

Rocky's is set in a quiet, beautiful spot on the island. There are only @ 50 rooms so it never seemed over busy. The rooms are always kept immaculate and are stunningly decorated in traditional Thai decor. The staff were exceptional in their friendliness, attentiveness and bent over backwards to be helpful. We were given an upgraded room on arrival right on the beach which was an added bonus. Any requests were dealt with immediately. The food in both restaurants was excellent and breakfast included buffet and a la carte options. The massage was also great and reasonably priced for a hotel. We had a peaceful time relaxing in the stunning resort for a few days after a hectic Thailand tour so didn't actually explore Koh Samui further..........the hotel was so lovely! If we return again to the island we would definitely stay at Rocky's again as a base to explore the island further.
Rocky's may not be considered a 5star luxury resort compared to others on the island or around the world but I'm not sure what more anyone could want!?

Room Tip: All the rooms were stunning. We were glad we had a room overlooking the beach and it was close to th...

I stayed at this resort whilst attending a friends wedding. the hotel was fantastic. we had a beach bungalow which was amazing really spacious room and right on the beach. The staff at the hotel were excellent (although sometimes a little slow with the cocktail making at the bar), the food was delicious. It has to be the best hotel i have ever stayed in.Everything will now be compared to Rockys.

Room Tip: beach bungalows are great for couples that want some privacy, the rooms up at the garden pool are gr...

“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

The reviews of this place say it all - it's just perfection!
There really isn't anything more they could do to make your holiday more perfect. From the little touches in your room (his and her straw hats/beach bag / flip flops / slippers / dressing gown/free wifi and even a multi socket extension lead so you can charge all of your gadgets!!) to the quality and cleanliness of the grounds - it doesnt get any better. The lighting in the room and all of the artwork in it just added to the comfort.

Then of course there's the staff who are so courteous and polite and the quality of the food.
The breakfasts are buffet style for fruit / juice / cereals / bread but there's also an a la carte selection which could give you a different choice every day for a fortnight. The food in the bistro (at the top) was delicious and very reasonably priced; we also had dinner in the signature "Dining Room" restuarant on the rocks underneath the little tree next to the sea - on a night when they had a firework display for a wedding. The food was excellent - indeed "Cooking doesn't get any better than this!!"
If you wish to venture out to eat elsewhere for lunch (or even dinner) - there is a little Thai Restuarant just 300metres from the entrance (turn left out onto the road) or just walk along the beach past the temple. Its called Krua-Chao-Baan and many of the locals eat here - you can easily get lunch and a few beers for less than £10 and again the staff are lovely.
But back to Rocky's - we went on their boat trip with another couple and had a great day fishing, snorkelling and visiting a fairly deserted island. The two lads who ran that were also a great laugh. One point to note - there is not a toilet on board - ok for us lads but the girls can find it a little difficult. We also had a lovely oil massage on the beach compliments of the hotel.
At the cocktail night we were lucky enough to have a chat with the Resort Manager Art who clearly loved the place and instilled in his staff a sense of pride and ownership in the place and this clearly showed through.
If there was one downside - and this in no way could be attributed to the Hotel - it is the selfishness of people who feel they need to put a towel on a sunbed and then disappear for hours only to come back and just remove the towels and go off. There are plenty of beds to go round if only people would use some common sense. Maybe the hotel should enforce the suggestion made in their brochure about claering beds that aren't used for a period of time.

That said I wont let that detract from this reviewv - I really couldn't talk any more highly about this place it was just so good. If there weren't so many other places in the world to visit I'd go back to Rocky's tomorrow.

I did say I would give a mention to King's Fashion - tailors in Lamai Beach who made me a cracking suit and my wife two lovely pairs of trousers. Give them a go!

Room Tip: We had a Junior suite Ocean View Room - room 906 - from which you could have afternoon and early eve...
