I am currently staying at Leoney in a "Deluxe" room which certainly isn't by European standards. The bathroom shower is rusty and dribbles luke-warm water. There is a large damp spot in the bathroom too. The room smells of mothballs (but I've been in India for 5 weeks and every room smells of mothballs!).

The staff are curt and slow but again that is Goa standards - unlike the rest of 'proper' India.

The pool is lovely with seating around and sun shades. There is a large book swap.

The hotel position is very good for a quieter and nicer part of Goa - the rest of Goa is rather like the Costa De Sol! The beach had dark sand giving it a dirty appearance.

We have had a fabulous time at the Leoney Resort. Firstly, the resort itself is very well maintained. The gardens are beautiful, the pool is nice and clean and our first impression was great. This impression continued throughout the trip. We had a suite which was essentially a bungalow - it was very spacious, clean and with AC. The bathroom was nice and the cleaners did a great job of keeping the bungalow clean on a daily basis. The service was perfect - anything we requested was acted upon immediately. The hotel staff are very friendly and knowledgable. The surrounding area is quieter than the bigger resorts such as Baga however it is untouched and beautiful. There is enough tourism here without it being a little Benidorm like which is the impression we got from Baga and Calangute. The beach is around 5 mins walk - not far at all and there are enough restaurants around and shops. A big thank you to Jolan and Jaison at the hotel who made this trip perfect and we cannot wait to return and book the Leoney Resort again next year!

I have mixed opinion about Leoney Resort. We did have a good time here, but decided to cut short our stay and move to a hotel which was slighlty less isolated. While Leoney's hotel property is definitely very pretty and constructed beautifully, it imparted a sense of fear when we stayed here in April. Maybe because it was off-season and the hotel was nearly vacant. Or maybe because it was the huge size and dim lighting that imparted a sense of eerie-ness at night.


Pros:
- Large and well appointed rooms
- Both pool view and garden view possible
- Nice location : close to both Anjuna and Vagator beaches
- Peaceful and serene, ideal for repeat visitors to Goa who want to be away from the noise of Baga
