We stayed here on our honeymoon trip for 7 days. The hotel was lovely with a nice pool and beautiful surrounding nature. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the smile always on their faces. The hotel offers shuttle bus to the beach every hour, or they can drive you to the main road and from there you can walk to the beach which is a 5 minutes walk away.
If you want to save yourself the trouble of arguing with the taxi/tuk tuk drivers about the price the hotels personal taxi drivers charge the same price and are more decent in their prices even at short trips.
If you are staying at Metadee ask for the taxi driver Mr. Nine, a very friendly and nice person, who will charge you honestly and take you wherever you want.
As for the hotel, a 4 star hotel with a 5 star feeling. It wont disappoint you

What a great hotel. We loved everything about it. We were a little unsure what to expect due to mixed reviews on this site, but don't hestitate if you feel the same - you will not be dissappointed. We had booked a pool access room and were very lucky to be upgraded to the pool villa access which is simply stunning: if you can afford it, it's really worth it, but all the rooms are nice. The villas rooms do get the sun all day whereas the pool access/view are shaded and and we loved sitting outside, both night and day, with what is simply a beautiful pool. The hotel never felt crowded even though it was fully booked and the staff could not do enough for you. We were worried that it was going to be a long walk to the town, but it really isn't that far to walk and they have a buggy to take you, which is always available, so this really isn't an issue, but we walked quite happily to the beach most days. We actually really liked the location as close enough to town and the beach, but far enough away for privacy. We have visited Thailand a lot and been to a number of hotels and we have to say this was right up there with the best in a reasonable price range.

My husband and I and another couple stayed at the metadee for 10 nights in feb 2012. My first impression was looks good. we arrived at 1.30am and the staff were friendly but their english speaking skills let them down compared to the resturant staff who were spoke quite well. We were taken to our rooms quite quickly, waiting for us was a lovely basket of fresh tropical fruit.
The breakfast is great, there is alot to choose from and all tasted really nice. the staff at breakfast were really fun and always so happy. Special mention goes to Tanwa,Boy and Su they were such fun!
The pool of course is the best feature of the resort. We didn't have a problem with mozzies but then we were up stairs in a pool view room not down by the gardens, take some flyspray with you if are planning to have a pool access room or villa.
They have a free buggy to take you to the end of the long drive way(300m) to the main beach road, good to use if you have had enough walking for one day.
The lunch and dinner menu at the resturant is really nice, just a bit dearer then places on the street. Fantasea show was good but not great for the price. Yes I would stay here again.

Such a nice place !!! This resort has a 5star garden and jungel feeling pool(never crowded) and nicest staff. We have a deluxe room ,wich was very beauty with big balcon(mounten view).The only thing, is the hausekeeping not the best ,they coming everyday but.....The towels are very used. The hotel is not on the main road,but you has a peace. You has every hour free beachbus,and you can go with golfcar.we want next year back.
