“Fantastic hotel/resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

We stayed at Sawasdee for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and it was amazing. The resort is pretty much perfect - great room with a very comfy king sized bed, nice big screen TV which doubles as a computer with internet. Swim up bar was nice and they constantly have a special of 3 for 2 Pina Colada's - yum! The service was exceptional and they have a free regular shuttle to and from Kata beach (which is only about a ten minute walk anyway). Plenty of massage and food options around the resort at very reasonable prices for Phuket. Breakfast buffet was sensational and loved the omlette bar! Only downside is that it's Phuket, which is way too touristy, overcrowded and we'd avoid in future. That said, staying at Sawasdee was a nice escape from the outside. Better to book tours with places outside on the street - cheaper, and it'll probably be the same tour anyway, same with eating out and massages. Overall, an amazing experience staying there. Also, better to stay in one of the Garden suites rather than the pool view room, as it'd be a lot less private at the pool rooms. It was nice in the Garden room to have a bit of a getaway and a more private little courtyard to yourself.

Room Tip: Garden room probably better than pool room for more privacy and probably a bit quieter

“An Amazing Oasis”

We fell in love with the hotel, even then we had to order it online, and the pictures do not lie. It was utterly fantastic. An oasis. The rooms were fantastic, we were lucky enough to get a room right by the pool, it was just good. It was a quiet, a nice base to return to each evening. Breakfast buffet was simply good. Service was fantastic and the staff were really helpful and always smiling. We can only recommend this lovely hotel for all who want to enjoy a nice, quiet hotel.

“Nice hotel”

First time booking at Sawasdee Village. We arrived late at night after a long trip. Our first impression was "???". Room is really small you just get the place for the big bed. Bathroom is nice but there is seriously a lack of space for the clothes. Actually I had to leave most of my clothes in the suitcase.
After our first night we were discovering the resort. Rooms are on the roof all beside one of the ohter. It was always really calm. The resort is in the vegetation, so yes there are some mosquitos. But the staff comes every night trying to kill them ;-)
Breakfast buffet was very nice. We also tried the restaurant at night as we received a free dinner (they give you a dinner or massage every 3 nights booked). Dinner was OK, but we didn't go back. Also had a thai massage at the SPA, it was our first experience and was actually very nice!
Staff always smiling and ready to help.

10 minutes walking to the beach, we've rented a scooter so there wasn't any problem.

One other thing that was annoying us was that the curtains "dark" enough. As there a quite a lot of lights outside it was a bit annoying but you get used to it.

Woud recommend this hotel, nicely situated, not expensive and good service.

“Fantastic!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at Sawasdee for 5 days with 3 other couples. From the moment we arrived we were extremely impressed. The resort is set amongst beautiful gardens and traditional Thai architecture. We had a garden view rooms which was lovely and each had it’s own computer which was great. We ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also one of the best buffets I have ever had. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. I would also highly recommend the cooking class – it was so professional and we made some really delicious Thai food. Originally we had thought about staying in Patong and I’m so glad we didn’t. Patong is so crazy and busy and it was really nice to be able to come back to this peaceful oasis each night. Kata also has lots of great restaurants and it’s only a short taxi ride to most of the tourist attractions.

Room Tip: The garden view room was really nice and I would recommend it but if you want luxury and you can aff...

My husband and I stayed at the Sawasdee a couple of years ago and loved every single thing about our Garden Room. The restaurant is impressive, the staff is even better and the room was gorgeous. When we went back in January 2011, we were expecting to be happy but not bowled over. Wrong! This place still thrilled from start to finish. We used the spa service and it was superlative and we left Thailand with smiles on our faces already planning our third trip...back to the Sawasdee. Kop-Khun-Kha!

Room Tip: If offered an upgrade: take it!
