“Very good choice and value!”

Villa Zolitude almost nailed it!

We stayed here for 3 nights to move to another resort at another island for 4 days. Both cost about the same and on paper had about the same amenities.. I wished we had stayed here for the entire week! I would not have minded staying here for a long time to relax and I regretted not doing so!

The welcome and check in was flawless in my opinion and the staff was at the reception was very helpful! We got a welcome drink and our room was ready even though we came quite early... After advise from other tripadvisor reviews I had requested a high located room. - the request was granded and we moved in to a Grand Pool Villa with a duplex design.

The villa was great and in very good shape.... the few wear and tear cracks in the foundation was not a disturbance at all and I think over all the villa and the pool was in very good shape... maybe its time to change the tvs (not super old - but not new either) - everything was very comfortable in the villa... One negative thing about the villa was that the A/C was loud and ugly! They were cheap models that you see in many mediocre hotels/apartments in thailand.. Not good enough - but it was more or less the only negative thing about the villa...

It goes without saying that these villas are made for couples and I would not recommend them for friends or families.. its a resort for couples (in my opinion - and you can see that in their restaurant too... all tables are 2 person tables...)

The restaurant was very reasonable priced and had some good dishes - not bad food at all but not great either! The breakfast however was if not a disaster then something like that... Its a 5 star resort and here i would expect something more... The restaurant is outdoors and while some of the items where on ice (yoghurt and some fruit) other things like cold cuts where not! and just sitting out there in the thai heat! Not very appealing! The selection was not great either, not terrible but not great... Service at the restaurant was a big dissapointment as well! They were friendly enough but they were slow and well just not very good at their job - and you would be treated different every night... The service at the restaurant and the breakfast is the reason I am giving zolitude 4 stars and not 5!

The spa was nice and reasonably charged. My masseuse coughed once and immediately put on a mask on her face so not to spread any more germs (it was a small cough)...

The grounds are very well kept, the resort is located on a hill side and it can be very steep some places however if you dont like to walk you can always call for a car to pick you up and it will be at your room within a few minutes.

I would recommend a villa located as high as possible for privacy. we stayed at 403 and I would recommend to stay at level 4... 401 - 408 where 408 probably is the best of them (for privacy)

Overall I would recommend VZ at any time, especially for value! Its a bargain in my opinion and you get a lot for your money compared to other places.

Phuket in general - I am not a fan! Def. will not be back to phuket any time soon .. way to big... but if I return I will probably stay at VZ again!

Oh there is no fitness center which was also a dissapointment!

“The ultimate Thai unwind!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

Villa Zolitude clearly shows that your Phuket experience can be of full contrast.. The Outragous and sometimes crass Patong Beach side that assults the senses.. And the complete class and relaxation that Villa Zolitude delivers. My wife and I have visited Thailand on a few occasions now and whilst we love the bounce of Patong Beach and the mix of Koh Samui, Villa Zolitude is a very special place that needs to be experienced at least once on a trip to Thailand.. But a word of warning... If you are single or not in love forget it.. It is definitely the place to chill and enjoy each others company in amazing surroundings backed with great accommodation styles to suit different needs and importantly backed by great staff from the gardeners to the management. You firmly believe the staff love working there and their pride in the resort shines through... Yes Thailand is the land of smiles!
My wife and I were starting a 3 week Thai trip that started with the first three nights at VZ and I slipped up in an email to the management that it was our 39th wedding anniversary and would like to book the resort spa for the two of us, so when we arrived the first night we booked into our deluxe pool side villa we were greeted by Katie almost as a long lost friend and when shown through our villa the words "happy 39th anniversary" was written on the bed... God knows how they welcome honeymooners!
Katie was a perfect hostess and showed us a grand tour of the other accommodation on offer including the amazing 4 bedroom villa... (we were actually on our way to join our family group of 10 at Baan Grand Villa high in the hills of Koh Samui..so we're keen to look at our future options for the family in Phuket... And VZ certianly more than meets that requirement) so probably could make a comment on the two types of villas mainly on offer.

GRAND POOL VILLA
This is the go for the newly weds and a great way to start a long term relationship.. My warning to the guys.. She may expect this to be the lifestyle of your future. If so- you are in deep ****. Simply stunning and the only issue for us was the seperation between the levels and a slight lack of privacy when the screens are open.. But if we were back 39 years, yep - would do us!! The pedestal spa at the head of the bed says it all!

DELUXE POOL VILLA
Really loved this. The layout on one level suited us to a tee and the standard of finishes extremely good.. Not quite 5 star but certainly 4plus. Loved the practicality of the bathroom areas and the day room interaction with the pool deck..to be able to have your partner nap (more like me) and the other relaxing close on the same level was great, and the absolute privacy of the units in the forest at the base of the resort suited us fine. The unit doesn't have the views to Chalong Bay of the Grand Villas but excels in privacy.

GENERAL COMMENTS
we didn't find the walking of the steps from the bottom of the resort to the main area an issue and the clever layout of the units across the hill side made the walk a pleasant stroll with rest areas if needed. Roughly 100m max.. But rapid response took took available!
Air conditioning. We found a temp controller beside the bed and just dialed our confort level so not too sure about some comments about being too cold at night?
Bed comfort level... Well great for us actually.

As a general comment I have noticed a couple of reviews stating a lack of maintenance, and coming from a background as an Architect I think the management have kept the upkeep to the highest standard possible and the large use of timber in the Plantation Style in such a tropical atmosphere is generally a nightmare to upkeep.. So good work VZ. The resort is extemely well looked after in my opinion.

Food.. We found the restaurant fare quite good and well priced but we elected to dine only one night as the in villa dining experience is a must, and the final night surf and turf bar b q was an absolute highlight. We invited some expat friends and I "think" we had a great time as the empties showed in the morning. The setup by the staff at 6.30pm for the guest arrivals at 7.00pm was an amazing sight with tables of amazing dishes that put the humble Aussie bar b q to shame. THIS IS A MUST!!

Spa. Well we have been in lots of spas massage places and this is the best. We booked a romantic spa massage for two for 21/2 hours and it was just amazing. Another word of warning however, you must tell the masseuse to go softer as I guarantee if you pretend to be tough, you will pay..

OVERALL
We think to quickly move into holiday mode a visit for 2-3 nights is a perfect starter for a great Thailand holiday.. We will certainly keep doing this..

Room Tip: If booking Grand Pool Villa look high on hill near reception for maximum privacy and if booking Delu...

“Mostly good, few minor things could be improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

Villa Zolitude was our 'treat' to ourselves, as on our 1 month holiday we were staying at mainly cheap basic hotels. Upon arrival we were shuttled up to the reception where we were greeted by very friendly staff, who then escorted us to our room with our bags. We ordered dinner from the room service menu, which was quite expensive (especially for Thailand) It was mostly enjoyable, chicken and prawns were overcooked, and the food was almost cold which is a little disappointing. The next day we visited the Phuket Zoo, Villa Zolitude organised a taxi for us which was clean + aircon, however he was supposed to pick us up at 5, by 5:30 we tried looking for other taxi drivers but were basically stranded as theres not much near by, an hour later we finally got a taxi, who charged us more because he had to drive up a hill. I was disappointed that the taxi Villa Zolitude had organised for us was not more reliable. That night we had organised a set menu in room, we were told the staff would be in our room at 7:00 for a 7:30pm dinner (this was even more expensive), after waiting until 7:40, we called reception enquiring if someone was still coming, they said someone will be there in 10 minutes...20 minutes later still no one, so we called reception again 10 minutes, waited another 20 and then called reception, where they said their on their way, finally at 8:40 someone began setting up our meal. Once again the food was nice, but nothing special. The next morning upon departure, we asked to speak to the manager regarding the previous nights dilemma and were told he was at home still, we had breakfast and came back again, the manager was still not there, so I requested they call him, as I was dissatisfied with the amount we paid for what we received. I spoke to the manager on the phone and he was fantastic, he was so apologetic, and gave us a full refund for our meal which we were pleased with.

IN SHORT
The staff are lovely and friendly but if something goes wrong they have no idea how to handle it, the room was beautiful, shower was great, unfortunately we did not get to use our private pool as it was too cold, I would have thought for the price paid it would be heated, and this was one of the main reason we chose this place. room service was average, perhaps try the restaurant. Included breakfast was good. Its quite secluded so would only stay there if you wanted to relax, not ideal for touristy stuff.

Room Tip: Only choose a private pool room if it is hot, temperature is significantly cooler than Patong, Phuke...

“Perfect Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Introduction: Stayed at Grand Pool Villa for 4 nights with my wife. Great experience!

First Impression: Staff were very polite, helpful, and friendly. We checked-in around midnight expecting may be a little non-smooth check-in process but were greeted warmly with cold towels and drinks and a very smooth and fast check-in process. They had even made us sandwiches in the case we feel hungry after our trip which we found very touching.

Accommodation: Regarding our grand-pool villa, in one word it was fantastic. Clean, professionally-designed, nicely-decorated, with an amazing in-villa pool, and great out-door shower in addition to all the other amazing facilities indoor. Grand-pool villas are designed in two floors the upper one containing the king-size bed, indoor shower, in-room huge bath-tub, mini-bar and TV while the lower-one had a daily bed sofa for resting, studying or even watching TV and movies (Yes! the lower floor has another TV and a DVD player) during the day. I have read reviews complaining about noisy and yet ineffective ACs but what we experienced was different. Two ACs in the upper floor without any noise and trust me in a few minutes our room was even a bit cold after we switched them on.

Food: Breakfast was superb! Variety of choices and everything looked and tasted perfect. My advice is not to miss the delicious breads provided for the breakfast. We also tried the restaurant for dinner once. Really delicious food for all tastes! And don't forget to order and taste the delicious cheese balls for appetizer. Their chef really rocks!

Ambiance: The place was very quiet with a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful tropical natural surroundings which made it a perfect get-away from all the hassles of urban life.

Other Services: Daily transfers to Nai Harn beach and Central Festival shopping center are available. Note that Central Festival would be a good place to take taxi to other parts of Phuket. And at last, Villa Zolitude is not close to famous places for noisy night-life in Phuket, so if you are looking for this type of fun, you'd better choose to stay somewhere near Patong.

Pests/Insects: Are around as you stay in a tropical jungle. Don't forget to use the provided mosquito repellant spray and electrical appliance during the night.

Room Tip: Grand Pool Villas. And Ask for Villa numbers 40x which are the upper ones.

I went here for my bday And it was absolutely amazing. The staff are vey helpful and attend to you every need. Then bungalows are located in a tropical rainforest in the mountains and it is very peaceful and relaxing. You have little buggies to ferry you to and from reception to the spa or to your room. The bungalow we stayed in was the grand villa. It had two floors, one at the your own private pool level to relax in with a comfy lounging bed and tv. This floor also had an outside shower and toilet. Upstairs had a massive bed, free standing bath, twin basins, separate shower and tolled and a closet. Everything about it was Perfect... We would go back anytime .
