“great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2012

We stayed at a one bedroom villa which we originally booked for 3 nights but liked it so much that we finally ended up staying 9 nights.
The formula is great & clever : the owners (Khun Wipa & Khun Methee) want you to feel at home and therefore they created this place : the staff (all of them very friendly and helpfull) are there when you need them but leave you alone when you don't need them.

Wipa and Methee come to see you in the morning at your villa and they help you when you make your plan for the day. They also recommend nice restaurants etc.

Most of the time we spend the morning at the swimmingpool and relaxing and then left between 1 pm and 4pm for some sightseeing.
With the 9hrs/day driver included you get to see the whole island. I also liked the location on the hill a lot : far away from noisy nightlife and traffic jams.

I would definitely recommend the Rising sun residence to those who seek a quiet and peacefull location to stay during their holiday.

Room Tip: we had villa nr 1 : at the swimmingpool this gives you sun in the morning and shadow in the afternoo...

“The best location to experience Phuket.”

Upon arrival I immediately felt welcomed, the rooms were well presented and the staff very attentive. The view is spectacular, waking up each morning with the sun rising above Chalong Bay, was a great way to start the day. Staying on the hill above the crowds for us was ideal, after a day of sight seeing it was great to retire to a piece of heaven. The Rising Sun staff were fantastic, they took a genuine interest in organizing an itinery suitable to our needs. I would not hesitate to recommend The Rising Sun residences and look forward to returning.

“A Fantastic Place to Stay”

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at The Rising Sun Residence and I agree with all the positive things said in other reviews. The owners and staff could not be more friendly or helpful. The service was excellent. The only advice I would like to give is DEFINITELY BOOK THROUGH THE RESORT DIRECTLY NOT A BOOKING AGENCY. We made the mistake of booking through Agoda and I would strongly advise against it. If we had booked directly we would have got free use of a car and driver for 9 hours each day (a huge bonus as it is too far to walk to anything), free airport transfers and a complimentary massage. We assumed that Agoda were offering the same deal and booked through them. We ended up paying more and getting less. When deciding whether to book, Agoda also flagged that it was the last room available. This was not true as 3 of our 7 villas were empty for the duration of our stay.

So, a fabulous, relaxing place to stay but check out the resorts own website first!

“Complete pampering. Home away from h”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We were booked in a 3 room villa from the 26th to the 29th of Dec, and were ourselves experiencing the delight of the Rising Sun Residence through reviews on Trip Advisor.

We had 3 families with a total of 6 adults and 4 children, and found the villa as it had been reviewed by countless of other folks. It was like stepping into another world, where everything you need was completely looked after for you. The villa was huge, and the staff remained largely invisible, while managing to cater for our every need, creating for us a feeling of home, but with everything done for us. Perfect!

The private pool was excellent, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The complimentary massage, daily breakfast and the the entire villa itself was heavenly. Coupled with a driver that came with the booking, we were pretty much freed to explore where ever we wanted. Of course, limited by the ability of our aged parents.

I have to make special mention that Khun Wipa and Khun Methee, made our stay extremely enjoyable, personal and very memorable. With Khun Methee's vast hotelier experience, his and Wipa's creation is nothing short of spectacular.

This is definitely a place that we would not hesitate to come back to. Thank you, Khun Wipa and Khun Methee for the wonderful time in Phuket!

“Quiet, attentive staff, great villas!”

Stayed with our extended family over 4 nights, at the 3 bedroom villa, complete with kitchen, private pool and large living room. Perfect for a large family or several familtes, especially with kids since we could cook within the villa. We went to the nearby market for food stuffs.

The best part of it was the staff, and the owners! They were really interested in what our needs were, trying to satisfy every aspect of our stay. For example, we had booked the golf course, and they grilled us on what we would like for lunch, were sandwiches OK, did we like chicken, was there anything else we wanted etc.etc.

Great for the kids, quiet and relaxing, we really want to go back!
