“A Wonderful Campsite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

Ballinacourty House B&B has an adjoining campsite and it's here we stayed for the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

From the moment we drove through the gates, we knew we'd found somewhere special. The toilets, showers, kitchen areas etc. were spotlessly clean and kept that way at all times. On site facilities included a playgound, tennis court, games room and even an animal farm.

The farm was a big hit with the kids - you can help out feeding the pigs and any eggs that the hens or ducks lay are for sale in the shop the next day - great for a bunch of city slickers like us!

On the Bank Holiday Sunday, a fun day was arranged with a treasure hunt, face painting, races and later that evening a trad band played for all.

The Glen of Aherlow is a beautiful spot and famous for it's walks. The weather was slightly against us so we didn't get to do too much hiking. There's plenty to do in the general area so it didn't stop us from having a good time.

We'll definitely be back to stay here again.

“Lovely, historic B&B”

Took my mom on a tour of Ireland, and spent 2 nights at Ballinacourty House. It's a lovely, quiet spot, and the courtyard garden was especially nice. It's also close to the several of the walking trails that cross the Glen of Aherlow. Mary, our hostess, was very sweet and accommodating. Great breakfast, and the restaurant was excellent. Great food and very good value for the price. They offer either a 20 euro or 30 euro 40 course menu with good selections on either. Wines by the bottle were very reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Book through email to Mary rather than the online service, as then you'll get info from Mary about when the restaurant is open and various local info, plus all the money then goes to the B&B, not the service. I didn't and was sorry that I hadn't. Next time I'll send her an email directly.

“An absolute gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

Stayed with Mary and her family at Ballinacourty for the Glen of Aherlow Winter Walking Festival last weekend. Absolutely fantastic place to stay and I cannot recommend enough the restaurant at Ballinacourty - the food and service was first class. The value menu had to been seen to be believed.
Mary and her sister were fantastic hosts and I wish them every success.

“An enjoyable stay in a picturesque setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

My sister and her husband had stayed at the Ballinacourty house on a previous trip to Ireland, and she chose to stay here again when booking b&bs for our 6 adults family trip. Ballinacourty house is a pretty cool b&b from a visual standpoint, as it was formerly used as a stables, so the courtyard and it's entrance look like something out of an old movie, it was easily the most photogenic of all the b&bs we stayed in. Our hostess was very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast served was very good, and the rooms were very nice. Ballinacourty house is located in a country setting off a very narrow road (I know, how odd, a narrow road in Ireland) with the Glen of Aherlow as a backdrop. I would not hesitate to stay here again as I enjoyed my stay here.

“Great value for money with a fantastic restaurant and wonderful hostess”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010

This was without a shadow of doubt one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed at. The building is an old coaching house with comfortable rooms and one of the best features is Mary who runs the place. She made us extremely welcome and makes the most fantastic breakfast with bacon that is to die for from the local butcher. Nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughyl enjoyed our visit. The food in the restaurant comprised generous protions and the steaks were excellent. We had the Irish summer whilst we were there on one day and climbed Galtymore, one of the Irish Munroe's which has tremendous views. The countryside is definitely the best place to be and I recommend driving through Tipperary and not stopping!
