It had a wow factor on me since I arrived, since I got down from the plane. It was beautiful and peaceful, the room was great, with a private pool and garden...the perfect place for an amazing honeymoon! We loved it, we had a wonderful vacation. The food at the restaurant was excellent with a beautifully quiet and relaxing environment, yet we party at the bar with our bartender Arelis. She couldn't have done more to make our stay more pleasurable and fun. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. We had plans to stay for the weekend, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for three days more. We will definitely be back!!!

Everything about this hotel was great except the other guests (snobbish and not friendly). Beautiful beach and pool, great service, friendly staff, great lounge at the airport.

Once you're in Vieques make sure you leave the resort ($10 cab one way) and check out the local scene in Esperanza. Also, I highly recommend Cape Air. If you're lucky, like I was, you can sit next to the pilot.

Rooms are dark...you need a flashlight to see clothes in the closet. Only two small drawers are provided and you have to sit on the floor to use them. Mirrors are positioned so that they are not usable or well lit. Service is terrible. Pools are cold. No heated hot tubs. Outrageous prices. Internet canceled every 24 hours no matter what!

On the other hand, it is a beautiful setting and we had a wonderful time on the island.

The W is amazing! We stayed there for 3 nights and than headed back to Old San Juan! Hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The first night we got there we arrived at around 10:30 ish (Took the ferry, horrible idea. DO NOT TAKE FERRY!) and called the hotel prior to reaching the island. They told us to call when we are about 15 minutes from land. We followed directions and did just that. We we got off the ferry and it was dark and all the other ferry guests were getting into their cars/rides except us poor Americans. (Our first time in PR and Vieques) We were scared and in the dark waiting for our ride from the hotel. This group of 10 teenagers walked pass us and made some remarks in Spanish, we understood them. Kind of nervous. The kids made a U turn and came back around for a 2nd round of additional remarks/conversation. We were really nervous and like a saint in the night on a white chariot, our hotel shuttle (which was the bell boy) drove up just in time! We laugh about it now but we weren't laughing at that time. From there on out everything was smooth sailing. We met Angie, who runs a tourist company, and she drove us everywhere on the island! She even took us to the grocery store, because the food is insanely expensive at the W, and the liquor store then recommended some amazing eats that were stealer!! At one of the local bars she recommended, we even met the teenagers from our 1st night at the pier, who were super nice but we were just naive! =D Overall - it was great and so was the staff.
