Nestled alongside a secluded mountainside, the Windjammer is a perfect hide away.
We spent the last week at the Windjammer and enjoyed ourselves very much. The staff at the hotel are not only welcoming but very friendly and willing to accommodate any requests. You will be assigned a hotel ambassador who you can contact if you need anything, have special request, etc. We did not find our ambassador to be completely helpful however, all the other staff were extremely wonderful. We would like to pay a special mention to Julia, the housekeeping supervisor, LaNaye at the tour desk, and the tall skinny guy with long dreads from maintenance (sorry, didn't get his name) and Gilbert, the shuttle driver. Oh by the way, you will need to call shuttle to take you around the resort. Initially, I thought this would be problematic and lengthy however, the shuttles are always there within 3 minutes of you calling for them. There are a variety of room types, so whatever your need, I'm sure that the Windjammer will be just right for you. Many of the rooms are open air with the exception of the bedroom, which is air conditioned. With that said, you will find all types of the island's little creature friends paying you a daily visit. There are 2 restaurants open for lunch and 2 for dinner. If you go the Ember's for lunch, don't try the BBQ chicken. The pizza, however was pretty...Nestled alongside a secluded mountainside, the Windjammer is a perfect hide away.

We also ate at Jammers for lunch and Papa Don's for dinner which were both pretty good. If you have a kitchen in your room and plan on shopping for groceries, you can take a taxi into Rodney Bay. There are 3 supermarkets there, 1 in Baywalk mall, 1 in Rodney Bay mall and the other is a little past Rodney Bay mall. DO NOT GO TO THAT ONE! Go to either 1 of the 2 in the malls, the difference is like Whole Foods compared to the corner bodega. As far as tours, we did the all day tour into Soufiere. There are two options for this tour, if you are the prissy type, do the catamaran tour to and from Soufiere, however, if you like a little bit of adventure, do the open air jeep safari where you go to Soufiere by exploring the interior of the island including the waterfalls and swimming in the warm water springs. You then have the opportunity to visit the volcano and then have lunch at Ladera, a very nice resort where you are in very close proximity and have an awesome view of the Pitons. If you visiting on a Friday, plan to visit the Jump Up, in Gros Inlet where you can experience a fish fry and the native dishes.have a great time!More
