this is, at most, a one star motel (with a m), with average service and no frills whatsoever. At all. It is across the street from the beach, not on the beach. St Lucia seems to cater to either very expensive and exclusive travel (private houses, helicopters, and perhaps one particular hotel) and then the cheap. No in between or happy middle. Blu is barely acceptable, but not nice as such.

My husband and I stayed at Blu for a week. All staff were friendly and helpful- there's always someone around to ask about anything from trips out (wet and wild tour is brilliant!) to the best places to eat. Our room was great- huuuge, super comfy bed and coffee machine were lovely little luxuries which more than made up for the slightly dated bathroom. The pool is heaven and sun loungers super comfy. Breakfast is great- yummy bacon and freshly cooked omlettes as well as delicious, freshly squeezed juices. Easy walking distance to beach and several restaurants. Be firm with pushy locals trying to sell you things you don't need or want! Some lovely and understanding; others need a more forthright approach. The bar nearby can be loud but it didn't keep us awake; that's literally the only slight downside of this brilliant gem of a hotel. Blu is brilliant value for money and we'd love to go back one day!

Just back from a short break to this small all-inclusive hotel.
Its not on the beachfront but that isnt a problem at all. The pool area is very clean. More than enough sunbeds and towels. The pool is cleaned each morning and you can swim in it as early as you like.
The rooms are very nice. Excellent facilities in the room. Plenty of towels, good coffee machine, air con, very comfy bed. Bathroom, as said before, is in need of refurb but to be honest, what does it matter when there is a powerful shower, hot water, toiletries and plenty of towels.
Breakfast has a good selection. More than enough to choose from and it varies daily. The serving staff are extremly polite and always happy to help with any requests (mine was a constant request for avocado and feta cheese with my daily salads)!!
Good quality alcohol at the bar with a good selection of cocktails available (Ammareto Sours were very nice)!
A special thank you to Neil and to the young men on the front office reception desk who always listened to any requests that i had and always lete use the computer when i needed to check work emails.
One small niggle.... on the evening that they had a buffet instead of the full dining menu the only sarter was soup. Very nice pumpkin soup but nevertheless not everyone wants soup on a warm evening!!
I am back next May and am looking forward to it already!!
Thank you all for a very nice short break.

Hotel wasn't bad , breakfast was good, other than that the rest of the food was a let down and over priced
The staff that worked there were very nice and friendly
The wifi was only working in the lobby area and not in the bedroom which was very disappointing
Close to the beach and other shops
Not sure if I would stay at the same hotel again though unless some major changes are mad

It was our first time to the Carribean so we didn't really know what to expect with regards to quality, but this hotel was more than satisfactory. We had a suite with our own private sun deck, the bed was incredibly comfortable and it was great to have a coffee machine in the room too.

We had an all-inclusive deal, which, I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous about (the image of huge buffets and canteen style eating sprung to mind) but it was a la carte, very good quality food. The breakfast was very good and did vary slightly from day to day. I don't feel the need to have a full English breakfast every morning so the local offerings were very interesting and good.

The internet connection was limited to the foyer and bar area; however, it was quite nice to not be connected to the outside world 24-7! I could understand, however, if you were there on business, it could be a problem.

The hotel was in good, easy reach of local amenities, including a big shopping centre, supermarkets and bars and restaurants. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes - in my opinion, it's a bonus that the hotel is not right on the beach.

All in all, if you want to go somewhere where you want to experience the island rather than being on a huge resort, this is the place for you.

Room tip: The suites are fantastic. Well worth having a sun deck!
