This was a gem in St. John! My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and as soon as we arrived, we felt like we were at home. We were "upgraded" to the Garden Suite from the Wild Ginger since someone cancelled at the last minute. The room was large, comfortable and the open air shower was so cool. Gail and Peter (the hosts) were extremely helpful in our decisions on what we should do each day and where we should eat dinner every night. Their recommendations were spot on every time. The coffee was great (we do love our coffee) and the breakfast they made us every morning was more than we could eat! We loved St. John as soon as we walked off of the ferry and we can not wait to go back. We would not stay anywhere else!

“The perfect place for relaxing hospitality”

My wife and I stayed in the Terrace View Room in The Garden By The Sea for a week (our last vacation before our first kid). In short:
- the location is great (close to town but not too close),
- the BnB is a non-pretentious and charming
- the price was about as reasonable as high season can be in USVI
- the hosts (Gail & Peter) were sweet, accommodating, and extremely helpful.
- the breakfasts were great (and they were able to accommodate my wife's gluten intolerance)

We have friends who live in St. John and after we visited, I am sure that they will be recommending Garden By The Sea to anyone else comming to visit.

We visited Garden by the Sea in October, and were so sad when we had to leave. It was perfect! Beautiful view from our sliding door in our room, breakfast on the veranda was excellent, and the B&B is gorgeous! The mosaics on the floor are gorgeous!
The hospitality is second to none, Peter and Gayle were so accomidating and wonderful! They were fun to talk to and get to know!
It was wonderful, we can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: We had the Wild Ginger suite, which is just below the upstairs one. Very nice.

This was one of the highlights of my honeymoon. The rooms are beautiful, the view is great, there are outdoor showers! and the breakfasts are delicious. Gail and Peter were wonderful, helpful hosts and my husband and I really enjoyed just lounging in the outdoor living area and chatting with them! Gail knows all the best restaurants and places to go. The B&B is walking distance to town, which is convenient for dinners and shopping. It's also a great example of eco-conscious luxury. They have solar panels on the roof and use solely rain-water - very cool. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

My wife and I enjoyed our week-long stay at Garden-By-The-Sea very much. The b&b
is very colorful, casual, and relaxing. There were 3 bedrooms with an open-air patio for
everyone to use. The owners were extremely accomomdating to the needs of the guests.
(although they were looking to sell the b&b to concentrate on a rental villa on the island)

Perfect for St John were perfect guests. We really love having the B&B and our guests are what make it so enjoyable. But the B&B IS for sale. We've had it for over 6 years and are looking for another venture. But Garden by the Sea will continue being a B&B even if it does sell. What we are selling, in addition to the very cute and quaint structure, is all of our good will, fabulous recipes, our hospitality, and our incredible occupancy rate. Garden by the Sea will continue on as a great B&B on the wonderful island of St John.
