It's hard to believe that these are shipping containers - they are well designed and very comfortable. There's a full range of equipment for cooking and (just) enough space to eat in - which makes a welcome change after endless nights in so-so restaurants. We were there in early summer, and there's not much to do in the area. The ski resort was closed, and you had to pay quite a steep fee to enter the 'recreation area'. But with the owner's help we found a great walk behind the Ecoboxes, with views of the mountains and glaciers. The hot pools were also undergoing repair, and seemed a bit sanitised compared to the grat natural springs we visited elsewhere in Chile.
