“Excellent service & convenient location”

Great hotel, the staff really helped us out when our booking went horribly wrong due to problems with the booking agent. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate. Only downside was the constant static from the bedding.

“A great Christmas holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My wife and I had an amazing Christmas at Brewsters. The staff were very courteous and helpful. It was especially wonderful to be there over the Christmas holidays. The Brewster family came in and provided a lovely food and beverage spread and even put on a wonderful Christmas concert for everyone. It really felt like a family Christmas, even though we were away from home. We liked it so much, that we will be actively trying to promote our family going there next year!

“Cheap and Cheerful”

Well located, and remarkably inexpensive -- okay -- it was down right cheap. Clean room, nothing fancy, so-so breakfast, but did I say cheap?

“Pretty good - would possibly come back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Am currently lying in the king sized poster bed in one of the Brewster suites. The hotel messed up my booking initially so they offered me the upgraded room at a very good rate. Also, our flight inbound was delayed and i had to call at about 7pm to let them know we wouldnt be arriving they were very gracious and did not charge me for the night. This was very good service.
The location is good, really like the ambiance, but as mentioned by others, the place is overrun with teens/early 20-somethings. They're pretty rowdy but the benefit of staying in one of the suites is that they're at the very far end of the hall and it's very quiet. The downside is that the halls are real rat-mazes and it's a bit of a trek.
The mattresses are bottom of the barrel commercial-type (the ones with the blue and white stripes) and the jetted tub was very dirty. I cleaned it myself but huge clumps of hair shot out of the jets when I turned them on -so gross.
Overall, however, I have enjoyed the stay and would possibly come back.

“Carol Service to nearly Calling police...!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I have stayed at the BML on a previous occasion and was satisfied so decided to stay again over Xmas and New Year, we arrived Xmas Eve to check in and there was a lovely reception with Carol Singers and Cheese, Wine & Biscuit reception next to the Log Fire....Brilliant..???

Nope....... things went down hill quicker than my Snowboard...!!! After Boxing Day people were checking in for New Year's Holiday celebrations that's when it all went wrong, I can party with the best but the Hotel was full of Canadians who decided to run riot in the Hotel, They were rude and parties would go into th early hours 4-5am. I complained on several occasions to reception about the noise and parties..??

The Management told me they had stopped around 8-10 parties over a period of a few nights, but becuase the people concerned took no notice and continued to run riot round the Hotel. I asked why these people weren't being kicked out of the Hotel after the warnings to stop but it seems the management wouldn't take action.

I decided to take action myself on one occasion when some guy was banging so hard on the next door down in the corridor and kicking it to get in the walls were vibrating on my headboard...!!! I went into the corridor and told him that if he didn't shut up i was going to throw him out myself......I went down to reception and asked them to throw him out but no action was taken.....I said to the management if they couldn't take control of the situation I was going to ring the police and let them sort things out.

The next day I have a meeting with the Manager to resolve the problem but it seemed the people causing the problem had checked out and gone...!!! I tried not to let the whole thing ruin my Holiday but I wont be going back again. The lack of action from the Hotel staff to nip the problem in the bud just gave everyone a free for all attitude.

Disappointed and not staying again.
