I recently traveled to Edmonton for visits with family and friends and stayed at the Days Inn in West Edmonton. Let me start by saying that the room and all of its amenities were top notch and I have no complaints or suggestions. That said, a couple of comments as an aid for others intending to stay in Edmonton: Location - The Inn is close to the premium destination in Edmonton, that is the West Edmonton Mall. Exit from parking lot, turn left on 100th Avenue, right a block later on 178th St, and about 10 blocks later, there is the Mall. Finding the Inn is slightly more complicated, as the turnoff on 10a Ave b from 178th St. is slightly more obscure, however the Inn is then a short block away. Coming from the north or from City Centre is slightly more complex, requiring the traveler to know that a turn off of Stoney Plain Road to 178th St. is required, or one has to go to 184 St. and come back. 'nuff said about directions.
Check-In - The initial check-in experience was less than pleasant. We were early (11:00 am), and were told in person we could not get a room or even check-in until 3:00 pm. I followed up with phone call, and shortly after received a call saying a room was available. All front desk interactions after that were great, with staff acknowledging our walk through...I recently traveled to Edmonton for visits with family and friends and stayed at the Days Inn in West Edmonton. House-Keeping - Cleaning was okay, however late in the day one day, which disturbed us as we had come back for a rest. It would be useful to have a card we could have put on the door to have asked for early cleaning.
Overall - a decent hotel, providing all the services one expects from a chain hotel, with the benefit of proximity to the Mall. More
