I had the pleasure of staying at this charming B&B over Christmas weekend, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. First off, the interior is beautifully decorated and our room was so cozy with an idyllic view of the street below. In my view, the photos posted on this site do not do the rooms justice, and our hosts went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. We even had a nice selection of movies, documentaries, and music in our room's video library, and our bathroom was fully stocked with all kinds of amenities (I especially liked the organic moisturizer!). Our hosts were witty and engaging, without any hint of intrusiveness. They are also knowledgeable about eateries in Montreal (being a Montrealer myself I found this to be very useful), and Ephraim whipped up some wonderful breakfasts for us (egg nog french toast one day, and cheese blintzes the next) along with a nice assortment of cereals, fresh fruit and jams (loved the homemade cocoa raspberry), holiday teas, parfaits, sweets, etc. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this first-rate B&B and I would highly recommend it to anyone--be they from out of town or from Montreal.

Couldn't have asked for anything more. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom with others, this is a great place to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable, hosts are friendly, and the atmosphere is classy.

We've been so spoilt and lucky with other B&Bs, so I would say that our stay was good, however it didn't quite compete with some of the other places we'd stayed recently.

The location is fantastic, walking distance to amazing restaurants, bars, shopping and nightlife. It really is one of the best locations to stay in Montreal. The building is charming, and the streetscape is quite lovely. I think we were upgraded, which was nice. The room was airy and spacious, and the bay windows were great for letting in air and light. Bed was comfy, and I had a great night's sleep. Shared bathroom was ok - it was extremely clean, with lots of toiletries. Breakfast was fine.

We got a wonderful recommendation for dinner one night, it was one of the best meals we've ever had. One of the hosts (they never introduced themselves so I'm not sure who was who) also had a look online for us for hockey tickets, which was nice.

If you're looking for a value for money and well located B&B, this is a solid choice.

The location is unbeatable and if you dont care about acces to public transport and nice ares in walking distance you need to meet Ephraim and Yves. They are the most friendly hosts you can wish when touring Canada and stay in B&B 's as we did for more than 3 weeks last summer. They are full of stories and information about Montreal and eager to share it with their guests. The rooms were nice and clean and the fact we needed to share a ath with another room di not present a problem for us. Their breakfast including the conversation not only with the host and other guests but moreover between Ephraim and Yves was a special treat. If we will be back to Montreal for sure we will try to get a room in Gingerbread again ( which is not easy as it is so popular ).
