Escaping the rush and noise of Ubud here we found a place which was peaceful and gentle .... the energy here is soft ... Very caring and attentive hosts with a great team. The home cooked meals are excellent.

If you are looking for a place away from all the hustle and bustle, then this is the place for you.
This is a toally isolated area and will appeal to most.
I enjoyed my stay thoroughly - the place clean and well maintained.
The only thing I can complain is that there is no aircon or fan. Not being used to the warm weather, I had trouble sleeping.
Located in beautiful northern Bali, this heavenly little seaside resort is the perfect location for a relaxing vacation. Tastefully furnished and decorated, the resort is spotless, the rooms very comfortable, the surroundings magnificent, and the food is absolutely scrumptious. The owners, Nicole and Jochen, are thoughtful and gracious, their staff professional, friendly and efficient. I soon had the feeling that I was not an anonymous hotel guest surrounded by strangers, but rather visiting my long lost family! I don't usually write glowing reviews, as it never takes me very long to find negative points, but I could not find anything to complain about at the Cili Emas Resort. It is a true gem, and I am looking forward to visiting again!
Cili Emas is a delightful resort on the quiet north coast of Bali at Tejakula. I found it friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and very clean. Everything there speaks of quality: the rooms, the furnishings, the great food, the gardens, the pool, spa – all have a warm, personal touch. It is the feeling of being part of a family that impressed me most – something one does not usually meet in hotels or resorts. The owners, Nicole and Jochan are very special people, as are the friendly Balinese staff.
Cili Emas sits right on the shoreline under huge trees, next to the fishermen's boats lined up on the black stone coast. Wake up to the sound of the waves and go out at sunrise with the fisherman, maybe see dolphins , then return for a big healthy breakfast (included in the very reasonable price). Delicious lunches and dinners are also served in the big thatched open-sided "bale", fronted by the sea.
The resort is well situated for outings to the mountain villages, Batur and Agung volcanoes, and Singaraja – but you may just want to stay put at Cili Emas and enjoy the pool, massages, food, and the great atmosphere!
Location:
Hidden underneath palmtrees at the black beaches of northern bali, behind the colorful boots of the fishermen, two hardly visibly doors in a stone wall lead to the little resort in the middle of a tropical paradise. No signpost to show you the way. It´s a place to live in harmony with nature and community, no place for the common Ibiza package holiday tourist.
Accomodation:
And thats whats our bungalow is like: up on entry you immediately realize that everything is well chosen and well cared for; the open top bathroom, the four poster bed, where we slept really well, fragrance of flowers everwhere.
Pool:
the pool ist big enough to really go for a swim, surrounded by banana trees and tropical plants and crowned by balinese work of art. this is the place to take a nap or to have a good read.
Food:
you take aperitif at a nice open bar, chat with the owners, Jochen and Nicole, and the other guests, while watching the chefs preparing your fresh meals, the bar ist also an open air kitchen. Here the tuna and the maimai jump from the fisherboot into the pot. All the ingredience, vegetables, herbs and so on are organic. Not only do you have a good conscience you also have a first class dinner topped with DIY-tipps for your own cooking at home. Sitting together at a long wooden table you can watch the sea and the stars and the fishermen pulling the boots of the shore.
Activities:
Here´s no host to get on your nerves, yet there´re the fishermen to take you with the boots of to the sea, a great experience, especially if you see the sun rising at the horizon. Of course you can snorkel, Jochen tells you the best places. And you can accompany Aylin to the market in the village to have a look at the diversity of fruit, fish and homemade textiles. The balinese people always smile, they never try to ask you for money or to sell you anything you dont want to have. You´re always welcome to the numerous hindu ceremonies. And in the evening you have to enjoy the famous balinese massage.
The concept:
Behind all this is a well thought concept: living in harmony with nature (starting with cooking, washing, constructing, sewage, low use of energy) pure sustainebility. Nicole and Jochen, they are no esoterian fundamentalists, if you want you can join Jochens "five tibetians" gymnastics or you can drink two liters of non sparkling water, at the same time you could also have sleep in and drink the good balinese beer bintang. Nicole offers workshops, in which she tells you about how it is possible to lead a better life in harmony with natur and in harmony with yourself.
As you can see, either you take some sustainebility back home or you simply enjoy life in the fantastic resort!!!
