“A Little Corner of Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2010

What a wonderful place to stay. You have your own immaculate suite to stay in which is totally self sufficient. All the rooms and your own private sitting area look over the water inlet and Sooke over on the shore. It's such a peaceful haven to stay in and Gwen makes it even more enjoyable. She is the perfect hostess with a lovely natural friendly nature and so much local knowledge which she happily shares with you. I would love to go back one day and stay much longer in this beautiful area.

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2010

We spent a couple of days at the nearby Markham House BnB, but they were booked up for the third so we relocated to Cape Cod for 2 nights. There is just the one place available, a suite with full kitchen and separate bedroom; the website at the time of writing doesn't do it justice - the suite is clean, bright and well appointed, with tremendous views over the Sooke basin. The experience only began there, however. We were looking into moving into the area, and by the end of the first full day we had met several members of the local community and knew that it would be a great place to live. All courtesy Gwen, who goes way above and beyond to welcome people to Sooke. Excellent value.

“Absolute heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2009

We stayed for 3 fantastic days and nights and wanted to stay more..and will go back for sure. Gwen is the most lovely, helpful, kind, friendly lady and a bonus was Angus her dog..he is a wee bit deaf and blind but loves a scratch and cuddle.

When we got there Gwen was fantastic...she could not do enough for us. We used the BBQ on the patio, the room (Apartment is more like it as it has kitchen, dining area, sitting area, bathroom and large bedroom with a patio of our own) we had was full of everything you could possibly want or need, all in perfect condition, the fruit basket and sherry on arrival was very welcome, we went for trips round the area on her advice, she booked a meal for our anniversary which was excellent and in a nutshell she could not be bettered by any 5* luxury hotel.

The area is breathtakingly beautiful...walks on the cliffs are a great adventure, going through the forest coming out on a view of the ocean and mountains in the distance..even seeing a pod of Orca's swim serenely by while we looked down on them was an unforgetable experience

On a nightime watching the sunset from the patio, a glass or two of wine and you forget every hassle you have...magic.

We fell madly in love with the whole place and cannot wait to go back.

“Wonderful rooms & great hosts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2009

We stayed in August 2008 for initially 4 nights but we loved it so much we asked to extend our stay. Luckily there was availability! The rooms consist of a double bedroom, modern bathroom with shower and an open plan living area with very well equipped kitchen. This was all self contained so you can come and go as you please. Breakfast was taken upstairs in Peter & Gwen's home. And the breakfasts were great! Nothing was too much trouble. Gwen & Peter even installed wifi when we just casually asked if it was available!! We went out in the morning and everything was up and running by the time we returned that evening! And if you stay you must get Peter to make you some blueberry pancakes! He'll even give you the recipe to take back home! Both Gwen & Peter will make you feel very comfortable in their home, and they are a delightful couple to talk with. I would definitely go back if I visit this area again! Oh and the view from the rooms is just beautiful!... and we saw the deer too.... and the humming birds... all from the house!

“The Perfect B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2008

I spent almost two weeks in this beautiful B&B in East Sooke, Vancouver Island. From the moment I arrived I knew I'd made the right choice. The hosts welcomed me like a friend, and there was sherry, fresh fruit and home made cake waiting for me in my rooms.

The view from the bedroom and sitting room is spectacular, overlooking Sooke basin. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well decorated, and the furniture and bed very comfortable. There is a spacious double bedroom, kitchen with all appliances, sitting room and dining table, and a very modern, clean bathroom.

Each day I was invited into their dining room for breakfast. Gwen and Peter are amazing cooks, and perfect hosts. We had very long chats over breakfast, it was like spending a holiday with good friends. On the first day a deer walked past the dining room window, it was amazing.

There are lots of walks nearby, and Gwen and Peter know the area well and can advise on places to vist.

I've already arranged to go back later this year. Cape Cod is a little gem.
