The accommodations are modern, comfortable and roomy. The only down side is that the resort is not affiliated with the golf course restaurant. And honestly, that is really the only place to eat. The food is good, but every time we have gone there, they are seriously understaffed. So as much as we love Big Horn, and the golf course, we are always struggling to find a decent place to eat.

Room tip: We liked the 800 building - it is more private.

We stayed here 3 nights and booked through expedia. We got a basement suite room (facing the parking lot) and we found out it had no air conditioning and it had a cigarette smoke smell. When we complained our only other room option was another basement suite unit with very little natural light.

Here are a few of the other things that sucked:
-no daily cleaning
-no air conditioning in our unit
-we have to take out our own garbage
-check out was at 10 am!

I wouldn't recommend staying here and we won't be staying here again.

TrueKeyHotels, Manager at Bighorn Meadows Resort, responded to this reviewResponded 18 August 2014

Dear Mountainman341,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments, we appreciate the feedback.

Room types and suite amenities (like air conditioning) are clearly described on Expedia, other online travel agents, our web site and other materials. When you made your reservation you chose a studio suite with no air conditioning. The studio suites with no air conditioning are a strong value proposition but they can be less comfortable when the weather is quite warm (as was the case this summer).

Bighorn Meadows Resort is luxury resort condominium development and our suites and service are well geared for longer term stays. As you’ve pointed out daily housekeeping is not provided as part of the daily rate but it is available as a fee for service. This style of service is consistent with many other condo style resorts in resort destinations around North America.

Most times we are able to offer a late check-out upon request. Check-in and out times are clearly indicated on Expedia, our confirmation letters and other materials.

We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay with us. If you do choose to return you may find a 1 bedroom or larger suite more comfortable. All of our full size suites have views, balconies, equipped kitchens, living areas and air conditioning.

Sincerely,
Michael Anderson
General Manager
Bighorn Meadows Resort

We came to this resort for a bachlorette party and absolutely loved it.

The highlights included staying in a beautiful loft that was totally furnished with bedding, full kitchen, kitchen supplies (plates, cutlery etc.), patio with bbq and chairs/table, plus a great view of the golf course.

We loved how it made a cheaper trip being able to cook and stay in but found that the resort was only a 10 minute walk to the downtown of Radium if we wanted to go out. The front desk staff were good and I loved how there was no daily housekeeping. As we were only there for 3 nights we didn't need someone to clean the place and there was always the option if needed.

My only negative to the resort is that there is no paper/plastic recycling. Although there is a place for bottles and cans, I think the addition of recycling for all products would be great. If you drink coffee or tea, I would reccomend bringing your own as after you utilize the first two packs of coffee there is a fee to replenish during your stay (but not for regular toiletries).

Room tip: We had four people in the loft suite but you could sleep up to six as there was a pull-out couch. Lofts are on the third floor (and there are only three floors) but if you can, get one that faces the golf course ... the sound of the water is very relaxing first thing in the morning.

I booked rooms here for 3 nights and managed to get 15% off by mentioning an ad I saw on the internet. That discount was a deal breaker! Prices seemed reasonable and we were right in town. We stayed in the 200 block in a one bedroom guest room. It was very nice! It had a HUGE bathroom and a little kitchen which we used to make basic meals. The only downfall was that there was no air conditioning so it did get rather hot in there. But we travelled to radium to see the sights, not to stay in our hotel room, so the heat was a minor issue. Over all I would definitely recommend!

We stayed at the Big Horn Meadows resort in July 2014. A little tricky to find as you have to go through the golf course to get to it... but it's in a great location if you want to be away from the main village but still walking distance (about 15 minutes). The resort is newer so it was clean and contemporary - awesome shower with rain head in our suite. We had a simple studio room with a small kitchenette - but I have to say that the kitchenette was the best stocked one I've seen in a long time. It had everything we could possibly need. We didn't use the pool or the hot tub - but it looked nice. Large time-share resort with a mixture of town homes and condos. Check in was easy and the front desk staff were very nice. Only disappointments were no ice machine anywhere (I like fresh ice, what can I say?) and no a/c in the room (or at least I couldn't find it!) I'd stay there again if I found a good deal.

Room tip: The studio suite we were in was like a basement suite - so if you're clausterphobic at all or want a lot of sunshine I would double check the location of the room direct with the resort when booking.
