“Perfect hotel!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012 via mobile

Got a deal on lastmin which turned out to be this hotel. Stayed 2 nights. Very clean. Made use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi which was lovely. Only two downsides were the tv was way too small for the hotel room and positioned in the wrong place and the drinks in the bar area were quite expensive but I guess that's what you expect in a 5* hotel!! Overall would recommend and would definately stay again

“not quite 5 stars”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband took me to this hotel for my 50th birthday and although the room was nice and the view of st pauls was good, i did think it lacked being a 5 star there was no coffee machine just a kettle and watch the mini bar it says if you take anything out even just to look you've got 5 seconds to put it back as it is electronic. I have been to several 5 star hotels in London all deserving there 5 stars but although it was good i think it more a 4star.We got a good deal on lastminute £100 a night i think they no this as i read the reviews before going and all say you get molton brown toiletries but i think if you get it cheap you do not get the molton brown as we just got what they use in the spa it was still ok i just pointing out what i think. One last thing the staff could make you feel more welcome as i didn't feel they were that bothered with you.

Room Tip: Just read the reviews most of them are right.

“Good stay - Grange redeemed itself”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Despite a poor last experience, we turned to the Grange for a one night stay after our flight was cancelled due to adverse weather. Check in and out were prompt and friendly. We got an upgrade to an executive room which was a bonus. Pool and spa were working this time - this is a big plus. Bar was much improved - service was better. Would consider again when next in London. Beds could be a bit more comfortable and hotel should consider mattress toppers.

“Perfect for a weekend break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We have stayed here twice now. If you get a good deal from lastminute then the rate is very reasonable at £100 for a night with full use of the spa and Gym facilities. The Spa is clean and modern and has a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna for guests use. The attrium in the centre of the building is a nice feature and we had drinks here before heading out in the evening. I can't comment on the quality of the food here as we didn't eat in any of the restaurants for breakfast we prefer to walk out to cafe rouge or one of the many other places close by.
If you are driving in there is a car park about 0.5 miles away at Bell Wharf lane (others and street parking are closer this one had a better rate of £30 for 24 hours).
We will stay here again if we can get similiar rates.

“5 star service? Not really..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This is the first time I have left a review here despite years of business travel. I am just so disappointed with the attitude of the staff in this so called 5 star hotel. Just returned from a one night stay at The Grange, St Paul's. We were really looking forward to pampering ourselves, the spa looked especially inviting and we booked this hotel for that reason. Unfortunately we were disappointed to find that the attitude of the staff was not 5 star, more Travelodge.. After an unpleasant incident in the spa where one of the girls removed my locker key and forgot to return it I was left in my swimming costume at reception dripping wet while the receptionist had a good laugh at my expense. I complained about the attitude of the spa staff to hotel reception afterwards but was not contacted by a manager or anyone else, I just got the overall impression that they couldn't care less. The only exception were the staff in the Novello restaurant who were very attentive, the food was excellent and reasonably priced for the location. Something else to be aware of is that due to the layout of the building (internal walls) there was absolutely no mobile phone reception in our bedroom despite having 3 phones on different networks. We should have been told this in advance and I spent the night worrying if the kids were trying to ring us. All in all we won't be back.

Room Tip: Avoid the internal rooms
