“Excellent!”

My wife and I stayed here after reading the wonderful reviews on tripadvisor and we can honestly say that it did not disappoint. The location is excellent and it is easy to walk around to different shops, resturants and into the city center. The breakfast was excellent each and every day and the staff was very helpful as well. We will definitely be going back when we revisit Belfast!

“Great stay”

Tara Lodge is a little gem - I stayed two nights here and the staff are excellent and very friendly. My room was a generous size (I stayed in room 7), the location is slightly to the south of the centre (great for Queens University Belfast, and the botanical gardens, but to get into town it is about a 15-20 minute walk - from a Londoner's perspective, Belfast is pretty small though!). The residential area is quite studenty - I had no problems with noise but then it was early January and I guess term hadn't started yet. The railway line did go past my room but it wasn't particularly noticeable. Free internet had one or two glitches connecting from my Macbook but once it was working it was fine. Breakfast was a particular highlight and well worth getting up for!!! One little thing I particularly appreciated was the PC and printer in the lobby - great for printing out your boarding passes before catching a flight.

If I was returning to Belfast I would probably check to see if there is a special deal on at the Hilton simply because of the location - otherwise it would be Tara Lodge and the delicious porridge. Yum!!!

“Central location and spotlessly clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We only stayed one night at Tara Lodge but we were very well looked after by the staff. It was freezing in January 2012 when we arrived and the heating in our room didn't work so we rang reception and they apologised and moved us to another room pronto which was heated which was a relief. The room has tea & coffee making facilities, good bathroom, good TV & in room safe. The staff were courteous and helpful and I have to say very friendly. The room was a good size spotlessly clean and the bed was fantastic in fact it was heaven, the best bed in a hotel room that I slept on apart from the Peninsula in Bangkok which is five star!!!. The breakfast was included in the room night and was adequate, the restaurant was so clean it look brand new. The staff in the restaurant were also very friendly and the service for breakfast was fine. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good cheap hotel close to Belfast central. We paid 79 english pounds for the night including breakfast which I felt was really reasonable considering the high standard.

Room Tip: Try and get a room that does not face the train line. Its not that noisy but there are rooms with be...

“Ideal place to stay.”

My husband and I just got back from spending a night at Tara lodge and can't wait to go back in the summer. We arrived earlier than expected on Thursday morning and our room was ready for us as we walked in. The room was clean to the nth degree, it was bright, spacious, a huge bed and had everything you could need, including an iron and ironing board which was a nice change from waiting for one like in some larger hotels. The hotel is a bit of a walk into the town centre, around 10-15 minutes; it gives you more of a chance to get your bearings and the coffee shops on route to the city centre are Amazing! The staff at the hotel are super friendly, super helpful and totally welcoming. Ricky is great for getting helpful advice on where to go and what to do if you only have limited time as we did. There was a lovely range of food to choose from at breakfast, and it was fresh and beautifully presented. As we were leaving on an evening flight they were more than happy to let us leave our bags there until we set off for the airport. I can simply say we will always stay at Tara Lodge.
